Genuinely don't get the outrage. Things move on. Do we not build the main stand because it would interfere with current seats? If lower holmesdale goes to safe standing, do we all kick off because some will need to move seats? I love watching palace. I don't give a sh*t from what seat I watch them. And if it's a choice of remaining in my seat in an awful atmosphere, or moving and the ground is buzzing, I take the latter option every time.

Really great news, I'm delighted. Well done CPFC. What a difference this will make. As per the club statement, there has been overwhelming support for this, the clubs needs to cater for the majority. No one is celebrating fans getting kicked out their seat, hopefully they are all well compensated for this - free season ticket next year and first choice seats once the new stand has been built is fair. People are celebrating how exciting it will be once its up and running. I for one will be back for my first season ticket in a while if I can get in the Holmesdale. So 100 fanatics are now the majority of the 25000 people who attend Palace home games are they? As for the online petitions as has been pointed out they have no validity unless only Palace season ticket holders were allowed to vote. And in case it escaped your notice there are plenty of people on here celebrating the very fact of people being moved out of their seats. This thread has done nothing but set fan against fan, something I never thought would ever happen to the Palace family.

Change sometimes happens in life, embrace it. Block E can speak up for themselves so let's stop jumping to defend them. We're all Palace and the club felt this was the right move so let's back them. For those in Block E that are sad, Just be grateful you got to experience those seats.

Not browsed this thread lately but the recent announcement is a reasonable solution to this situation. Everybody wins here. The clubs reputation will be restored and let's face it, we will never have the best stadium but at least we can make a great atmosphere. Well done SP on this one.

Atmosphere undoubtedly plays its part. But the actual reality is that the atmosphere at Selhurst has been going downhill every year since promotion. It’s pretty much become a myth, one that we desperately cling onto in the desire of a sense of identity as a club. Moving them behind the goal really is not gonna have the effect people think it will in the long term. The problems they’re having generating a proper atmosphere in Block B should be a pretty broad hint of that. You probably have a point there, and there should probably be some kind of online season ticket swap shop so those who know they’re not really singing or not into as they were might vacate it for good seats elsewhere. Our atmosphere was still better than most, even though it was declining.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

Neither do the HF! This has been the most ridiculous argument from day one and a quite pathetic attempt to demonise other Palace fans who sit in Block E. If you wanna force people out of their seats that’s fine. But for FFS, own your position instead of trying to act like them “not owning their seats” makes this somehow justifiable. It’s absoltely ridiculous to think that other Palace fans are forced to sit elsewhere because a group has been deemed to support the club better. It’s a kick in the teeth to long-serving Palace fans who I’m sure include those who could quite easily make a case for contributing more in support than the HF. And this isn’t coming from the position of some bigoted, bitter and twisted old git. This is coming from a 24 year old who’s just being honest about what’s right and proper in this situation. Forcing fans to move for other fans isn’t and never will be. How anyone could disagree is beyond me. Edited by Mstrobez (26 Sep 2018 7.24pm) The board own the seats and everyone is probably just intimating that the board view this decision on the seats they own is the right one for the club. They wouldn’t do it if it wasn’t. If this was handled properly and professionally in the first place the fallout wouldn’t be as bad as it has and there’d be less division. In the case of long term season ticket holders, if it came down to whether they can be more crucial these days compared to the atmosphere, then you know what the board would be thinking. It’s unfortunate but that’s the case. We’re really lucky to be where we are and relegation could happen very easily. I’m sure Parish would rather have everything possible in our favour, and that goes beyond any crucial points I believe an atmosphere can have in relegation battles.

We’ll stand more of a chance in relegation battles, which happen to us in 4 of every 5 seasons. Ever see a quiet or toxic crowd near the bottom and you fancy them for relegation. We’ve never had that. We get thumped 0-4 by halftime and then next game everyone knows time is running out so no time to waste, moan or argue. Just full back from 100+500 people joining in.

I must give a final opinion. You seem to be completely ignoring the interests of the club. This is not about prioritising one set of supporters over another, it is about improving the match day atmosphere. Surely that is worth the sacrifice. Ultimately the board can do as they please. It is their club. I understand that some fans might feel disrespected, but they need to see the bigger picture. It ain't personal. The HF have not behaved well in this but they are a valuable part of the Palace image in 2018 and we need something that is pure Palace, especially while our ground remains a cow shed.

I assume they will ask " Do you want to stay in your seat in a singing section? " If that's the case, what's to stop everyone in the block answering "Yes" thereby in effect blocking the move.

Just so I am clear... those currently in Block E may have to move seats next season ? They aren't being ejected from the ground or losing any limbs?
