Has no one thought its odd how large portions of the crowd boo and dislike like knee taking but the same ratio of players arnt against taking the knee.

Talk about cognitive dissonance. Up is down, left is right....words become meaningless. After reading some of the stuff you post I can only agree!

This proves my point. The players and manager have been vocal on their decision to protest for racial equality, some of which is the right not to receive dogs abuse online. Yet you interpret this protest entirely differently, in a way to suit your own agenda. Don't bring politics into sport? You seem keen to bring your own into it so please do me a favour. Maybe the ones booing agree with Wilf that it isn’t achieving anything.

Booing your own country's players, in a major tournament, because they chose to take a stand against racial inequality (the actual reason stated by Southgate and the players themselves) is absolutely dire however you look at it. Edited by madcap_v2 (08 Jun 2021 9.31pm)

I no longer have any inclination to attend a football match. I don’t really give a damn what a footballer thinks, they are there to play sport and we are there to watch. We pay for that privilege and they are fortunate enough to earn small fortunes as a result. We should not have to suffer their political gestures just because they think it is ok to enforce it upon us regardless of the subject matter. This goes for all political gestures in all sports.

Purley hypothetical but how can a player refuse to kneel if they don't want to? Whether they don't agree racism is as bad as portrayed in the UK or they don't like politics in sport or even are racist themselves. They can't refuse basically as they will be cancelled, especially if they are white.

The players kneel because the Premier League tell them to do so. And the Premier League do so because they believe their sponsors want them to. That's it. As simple as that. Purely a marketing gesture. And its boring now. People need to start having to face up to painful choices when it comes to this notion of what 'supporting' actually entails. Personally, been falling out of love with International football now for decades and I suspect this coming tournament, along with the utter farce of the next World Cup being held in Qatar will kill it altogether. I genuninly dont care if England win, lose or draw anymore. And that saddens me, it really does.
