We just don’t seem to play on the front foot against anyone and if we do get our noses in front we revert to a defensive shape - rather than kill the game off. It’s this unwavering negative approach (particularly when we have some exciting players at the club) that has led to many hoping for a change.
I find myself watching the pre match press conferences wondering why I’m bothering as it’s the same as every other conference, dull.
Just like many of our performances- mainly dull with the odd flash of interest...... but mostly dull.
I am very appreciative of the stability Roy has brought to the club but
I hate the brand of football being played by us - it’s defensive and dull, no width, no tempo, no movement and no real purpose.

We need a new direction and with the nucleus of a decent group of players we can be a lot better than we are.

don't agree - our squad is deficient in key areas. I didn't see us playing too defensive v west brom, fulham and leeds, our defensiveness is primarily dictated by the situation, less so Roy - but it's a safety first approach, but again safety is our first priority given the size and spending power of the club. Where I agree with the 'roy out' brigade is when we are too scared to go forward when going forward is the safest option, see our performance away at Man City. Our defenders and midfielders need to stay close to each other, they're not young enough, quick enough or good enough to play more expansively - hence the 7-0-3 formation (variously disguised as 4-4-2 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1). If you really want to argue that it's the way Roy sets the team up being the main problem, then give us an alternative, maybe who'd play where if we played three at the back (3-5-2 or 3-4-3).

We play exactly the same way as Mourinhos Spurs side does, just they have better players. It isnt the system its the players.
We are rebuilding with younger players being brought in,but its not a one window job. Roy is the perfect person to keep the team in the Premier during this period, he is doing exactly what his employers ask of him.

Ah.. the old it’s not the manager it’s the players ruse

Sure some of the players are not good enough. He could always attempt to to make them better or at least translate his plan to them better. Unless not passing to each is the tactic. Or heaven forbid he tried other players or a different style. He’s a one trick pony. Which is why he’s thrown players like camarasa and Meyer by the wayside. Yes they also may not have been good enough but it also shows the the club have also failed in trying to impose a different type of player on him. Eze being shoe horned out on the left another example. Why won’t be play Jairo more, at least he can find a team mate with a pass. No he’s happy with the other 3 cart horses. It’s a means to an end with Hodgson, I understand it. Just don’t want it or like it. This is not football to me.

Anyway only 2 more sleeps till groundhog day again.

A short list to replace Bruce should he leave makes one wonder if we have a similar short list to replace Roy!!

There is no vacancy and unlikely to be for the foreseeable future.

Surely there's a small chink of light at the end of the season.

emphasis on the words small chink'? We should get some idea once we hit the 33/34 points mark provided this is achieved early enough.

If Mark Hughes is the chink of light, I hope not.

I am not in the Roy out camp but if there is an upgrade available now that may not be there at the end of the season....

I would love Rafa to come to Palace I would be surprised if he went back to Newcastle with the current owner.

And a big fat '' no '' from me.

Offers nothing that we don't currently have in my opinion.
