Like there was ever a unified collective of men in dark suits plotting remain. That said it is fair to say that almost half the electorate voted remain including most of commerce manufacturing finance and the city as well as most of the government. Were they all wrong? Rather than a conspiracy, which implies everybody making a coordinated response via prior planning I think the establishment are more those whose interests are aligned all tending to behaviour that results in the same protectionist outcomes......results that have little to do with fairness and lots to do with gaming the system. As for those who voted remain.....well it was a bit over 48 percent.....which is nearly half and they deserve a significant voice. However, what we seem to be seeing is that they have more than a voice.....they are actually stopping Brexit.....We have Dan on here telling us Bexit is never going to happen.....He may be right. But that's not democracy and for plenty of people that is going to take the trust in parliament from poor....to god knows what. Edited by Stirlingsays (11 Apr 2019 10.08pm)

At least Mrs May selects her team on merit and not because they are ex shag buddies Ah, my mistake. 22% female is of course an excellent representation of the public in the UK. And as you say there is an ethnic minority person too. Cracking. The idea, however, that Hunt and Grayling - and indeed May herself- were selected on merit is beyond risible Abbott is everyone’s pet hate. I have no particular view on her but to judge the whole shadow cabinet based on her is clear nonsense And as I am sure you know it was Miliband who invited her to join the shadow cabinet.

Oh, well if it was a towering statesman like Miliband she must be great. If you have no particular view then watch one of her interviews and you’ll soon form one. She’s as sharp as a sack full of wet mice.

You should be fuming tbh. to lay any blame with the EU is barking up the wrong tree and leaving it will only worsen the situation. Tories will simply deregulate, our social wealth squeezed further upwards, and can force another generation of austerity, blaming Brexit since they can argue ultimately it wasn't their policy to leave, the electorate voted it Biggest mistake of our lifetime

I know how you love to argue and I don't normally engage with you for that reason but whilst 22% of the cabinet may well be female there have been a large number of females who have resigned over the months and I don't suppose that the makeup of the cabinet is what Mrs May would have wanted but is more to do with running out of suitable replacements. Regarding your sarcastic comment about an ethnic minority minister I did say "to one of the top three jobs" as there are plenty of other ethnic minorities in the Tory Government including Deputy Chairman
