I find it neither bigoted nor racist although I disagree with what he said as there are quite a few females and non whites in the Tory Government including the first Asian minister in one of the big three posts. At least Mrs May selects her team on merit and not because they are ex shag buddies If the left want to get upset by a dark chocolate Easter bunny ill certainly be upset by being called pale and stale Can't have it both ways.

My father was a small business owner at the time and hugely enthusiastic for joining the EEC. As were the majority of people. As was his perogative of course, at least my dad didn't throw his toys out of the pram and demand that the democratic vote be ignored! EEC was somewhat different to what we have now.

Both Heath and Wilson were quite straight with the people and the people gave their whole-hearted consent. The real difference between now and then is that now the Brits are no longer nice people. You could go and join your buddy PP in Holland, I'm sure they are all nice people there

Maybe sensible, mature, balanced people don't see it either way? And can make sound judgements on most things without political persuasion or media manipulation?

It must be different where you live as there aren't any polling stations in our local parks Well I once did a poll station in Queensmead recreation park it was a porta cabin. I have done them all over the place and people do bring their dogs in, mostly behaved.

So, October 31st. A Brexit Halloween nightmare. Guess the talks with Corbyn havent quite paid dividends yet.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

Au contraire. I am thinking about decades of missed opportunities to live and work abroad and the long term impacts of massive reductions in jobs in the poorest areas of the country. I am aware that you like the glass half empty interpretation but you and I have no real idea how Brexit will work out in terms of the economy and therefore, in reality, we are left to choose sides based on wider ideological issues. You might prefer the Star Trek version of the future with a world government, no real nation states, and racial harmony but in reality that seems like a far less pleasant idea when you consider that before we ever get there (we won't) there will be a population crisis ultimately causing a breakdown of society and before that, decades of religious and cultural friction and a reduction in personal wealth created by freedom of movement and automation. We will also have no say on our futures since we will be reduced to corporate drones with no influence on a centralised government who feed us what they want us to know or believe. Captain Kirk would probably a low paid Asian who grew up in a Shanti town and the Enterprise would never leave dock because deep space travel will only done by robots built in China by other robots.

On the other side there’s the development of having to move abroad for work in certain jobs or sectors.
