Very true all anyone got was a huge bung for Gold, Sullivan et al who got a new stadium and aside from that nothing has really changed. But did anyone really expect it to.

Was there ever an audit of where all the income went from the Olympics? It certainly didn’t go into housing as numerous athletes accommodation blocks still sit there. The rumours at the time were that Branson made a killing by buying up land prior to the 2012 Olympics location being announced. The only thing you can be sure of is that money goes to money.

I work next to the Olympic park and there does seem to be a lot of building going on. Just never seems to ever be a thing actually completed. Mind you I am not a fan of the area and can't see why anyone would want to live there!

A friend was embedded into the Olympic bid and wrote a book about it (not a page turner) her conclusion was that the legacy was a joke swiftly abandoned by the politicians. She is now working with the Paris Olympic Committee and they are making the same mistakes. It's a very expensive 2 week party. You can regenerate an area without the Olympics.

And speaking of expensive flops I see the BBC will be throwing our money at the Eurovision Song Contest much to the relief of the other countries no doubt. So far no word on how much it will cost us.

Why do you think they all voted us into second place? They knew Ukraine would get the sympathy vote from the public and not be able to hold the event there next year.....
