I have flown PIA from Heathrow many years ago - I believe it was on a 707. I have flown PIA on a Trident on an internal flight. I've heard PIA referred to jokingly as standing for "Perhaps I'll arrive' Or PIA “ pray in air”

Sopwith Camel as well? I recall speaking to an elderly gentleman many years ago.He was once in the RAF and used to fly Vulcans.I jokingly enquired as to whether he had flown 'Sopwith Camels' (Which were retired in 1920) and his riposte was not for the lily-livered!
I have just recalled that I have flown on a 'BAC One-Eleven' twice, operated by British Island Airways. Edited by Willo (03 Apr 2020 4.19pm)

Flying Air Malaysia once we were over Miri International airport. I realised we were going round in circles for 10 minutes. The pilot said nobody in the control tower was answering. They contacted Bandar Seri Begawan and asked them to phone up the control tower, if they didn't answer we were off somewhere else. Got there in the end Most worrying is any freefall parachuting plane - with no door - before it gets above 1,000 feet.

My dear wife and I have completed a round trip to Sydney in Business Class with Malaysia Airlines and we were treated like royalty on every sector.

Beg your pardon, it was indeed Malaysian Airlines. Dreadful reputation. One trip I had to wait at what was pretty much a bus stop in the jungle. A STOL prop plane swooped down, we walked over to it like a bus and off again. Live chickens allowed but durians banned

I share your entire perspective. We have said it all before, and the chickens could well come home to roost over this depending on how events unfold. I've heard that these fears are held within the corridors of power as well. Who have you heard this from?

A total side remark, for which please don't take offence because none is intended, but I cannot help but smile whenever you refer to your wife in that way. I am sure she is a lovely lady, who you clearly love a lot given the affection in your tone, but "dear"? Does she really cost so much? Do you have another wife you refer to as "cheap"? You naughty boy!
