The Conservative policies have been well documented for all to see and I really don't have to repeat the manifesto on HOL.

My comments were made to illustrate my disdain for Corbyn and the Labour party. We really cannot sleepwalk into a catastrophe and plunge our great nation into the greatest crisis since the war.

On that note I have to depart as I have a long and busy day ahead of me so no time to engage in any debate on HOL.

The Tory 'campaign' has been woeful. Dodging and ducking scrutiny, manipulating figures, and just spouting that you'll get Brexit 'done' when it'll be anything but.

Your post slagging off Corbyn sums it up. Nothing to offer.

This time tomorrow we'll all know just how successful the Tories woeful campaign has been

Why did a conservative lady ask for my polling card number outside the voting station? What data are they collecting and for what purpose? Do all the parties do this? Do they divide the task up between them?

The only data that they can possibly glean is that you have actually voted.

I understand that if by this evening their records show that people that they know normally vote Conservative haven't voted they could offer to give you a lift to and from the polling station

Voted Conservative but did so with a heavy, heavy heart. Purely on the basis that I want Brexit done but with no real faith in Johnson to do anything else other than what is good for Johnson.

Ignoring all the usual tribal shenanigans how did we ever get to this? A choice between a rabid Marxist scumbag who happily shares platforms with, and expresses admiration for, terrorists from a variety of groups who wish nothing but harm on this country and Boris Johnson. A venal buffoon who is perhaps the worst example of what our modern political class can throw up? (and pun very much intended).

I suspect that whatever the outcome we all need to take a step back tomorrow and take a long hard look at ourselves.

Where do we go as a country from this? I am truly sickened by anybody who expresses a desire for my vote on June 23rd to be rendered null and void, and then no doubt take great pleasure in rubbing my face in it, and yet on the other hand, we are willing to vote for a piece of s*** like Johnson just to get our way?

Never felt so downcast about the state of our collective political psyche.

We should not be in the EU as of this date. We voted to leave it and the failure to implement that is toxifying this country in so many ways.

I genuinely fear for our future because if Brexit is not decisively resolved soon then what is to prevent even more fracturing of the UK?

It truly saddens me to say that I hope Johnson wins with a working majority. But I see no other way out of this quagmire. A second referendum, on Labours terms and with their proposed rigging of not only the question but also the franchise achieves nothing other than making the divisions worse than ever. To the point of catastrophe.

A horrible day with no truly good outcome. Only shades of bad because if I get my wishes we are stuck with that moron in number 10 for 5 years.

All parties have these agents I guess they decide where to send them, not much point if your candidate is never going to win.

They are election agents and as another poster suggested they are trying to gauge turn out mainly for their supporters if you haven't voted and it is close they may come knocking on your door to remind you.

And yes the sensible ones help each other I have seen Labour and Tory election agents happily help each other "one for you etc." It depends on the individuals and if there has been bad blood locally.

They have no official position within the electoral process and they are not allowed into the Polling station or to hamper you in anyway, they are a bit of a grey area. You are entitled to ignore them or report them to the Polling station staff if you are being harassed.

At the 2017 GE this actually happened a voter returned
to the polling station to complain quite correctly that the Tory man outside was being aggressive in demanding his polling card. One of the staff kept an eye on him and after a second complaint was satisfied there was a problem. He phoned the council election office who contacted the local Tories and 10 minutes later the guy was gone.

That was the first time in 20 years I had every seen anything like that the guy was just an idiot. So please report anything like this to the staff inside but use your common sense they are entitled to politely ask you for your polling card and you are entitled to ignore them or tell them where to go (I do).

I want a government with a mandate from the people and if that is Corbyn I will have to suffer it, that's democracy.

As I have said previously if we have a hung parliament it will be a disaster with parties doing backroom deals and the electorate not getting what they voted for.
