Benteke is like most strikers in that he needs quality service. Add in shocking defending, and you have a very strong goal chance. He missed a hatful of those last year, and while he allowed the keeper to get a hand on it, he converted what was a gilt edged chance yesterday created by an absolutely perfect ball in and non existent marking. It was a strong, strong goal chance and would have been a terrible miss. Don’t get me wrong though, he has missed many of them in the de boer and Hodgson era. With his second goal chance he showed his recent woes by hitting it into row z. The only way this gets sorted out is game time and now that we are safe it is clear Hodgson understands he must play the guy as giving minutes to Batshuayi now is crazy. What I have never understood about Hodgson is when he has Benteke out there he barely gets the crosses in. One thing tekkers never stopped doing was winning headers, it’s just about getting them on target these days. Harsh as you fail to mention the flick on for the 2nd goal against the Arse. Based on the salary we have probably given him to "lure" him away from the Scousers suspect he will be with us next season. Sounds like he didn't do a lot today but neither did the rest of the attack. Give him the full minutes for the last 2 games and see what he can do. From the above we have to give him a chance.

I heard a rumour that in the 2nd half he bought out his bank statement and just started laughing, no wonder he couldnt give a sh&t...i would say he is worse than a donkey but that will be an insult to the donkey...three times today the ball was played to his feet and three times he lost it on the 1st touch...if he wants a lift to join Tooting & Mitcham ill drive him

He is on stupid wages. No one will touch him with a bargepole. We are stuck with him until his contract runs out I am afraid.

As much as it pains me to say it, I honestly believe Benteke is finished at this level.Im not sure if those knee injuries have taken their toll but he looks like he can't move anymore and the ball just bounces off him. I know he doesn't show much emotion but he looks a broken soul. His only positive attribute left is his heading ability and even that is waning (out jumped by Keane for most balls against Everton) With Bats and Ayew going back to parent clubs and Wickham and Benteke possibly finished as top level football players we are in serious need of finiding a hidden gem.

I admire your support of CB but I don't think his injuries have come into this equation. The problems lie inside his head.
