We are not talking about a book and its cover or a jigsaw puzzle. We are talking about the President of the United States saying that you will not catch COVID if you have the vaccination. He clearly said it. He may well believe what he said, but it is accepted that it is factually incorrect. He may not believe what he said, so is a liar. He may be such a confused old man that he doesn’t know one way or the other. Whichever the case it is ridiculous, but typical, of you to try to try to muddy the waters.

As for the Crown Court, are you saying, for instance, that a landlord pleading guilty to not maintaining his gas appliances can claim that his plea is being taken out of context?

When he said it there was very limited knowledge about the virus, especially in the minds of non experts. Biden is no more of an expert than you or me. We have though all become more knowledgeable over time. Or better put most of us have.

His statement turned out to be incorrect. No one argues about that but it wasn’t a deliberate lie of the kind his predecessor uttered every time he opened his mouth and continues to do today. I have no doubt it was an honest mistake made in an unscripted response to a question. Something that was corrected in follow up comments. People make errors sometimes when they answer questions on the hop. It happens to everybody. Even you.

To concentrate on one isolate phrase as if the whole policy of the administration was based on it is ridiculous. It just shows how desperate people like you are to try to find mud to sling at a Democratic President you dislike.

This obsession with gas appliances puzzles me, but to answer your question, who knows? It would depend upon the context involved.

I think people have personal reasons and are entitled to have them. How is the idea that outside agencies are affecting their thinking anything but a conspiracy theory?

I don’t think the security services of the 5 eyes countries deal in conspiracy theories. That’s why we have the 77th Brigade among others.

The waters of investigative interest will be so muddied by conflicts of interest, that no person(s)/department will be found culpable and all recommendations will be limited to, "must try a bit better next time"
That's no disrespect to contributory posters, but rather just the way things tend to go. Entrenched positions and little light shone on the truth.

I trust that the way the enquiry has been set up will make sure its report is completely objective.

Whether the politicians act on it is another question.

Don't you? That's alright then.

Do you seriously believe the security services spread conspiracy theories?

They counter them, not invent them.

They will also mislead their opponents but not in a way that harms us.

I have noticed a few recent references to gas appliance servicing accompanied by sly digs at me.

I have no idea why, or where this nonsense has arisen from.

For the avoidance of doubt none of my rental units use gas. It’s not connected in the road and there is not a supply tank either. The units are all electric!

So no gas servicing is, or has ever been, required.

And before anyone jumps the appliances are all PAT tested and the electrical certificates up to date.

Yes, I believe the NSA very well might spread conspiracy theories.

Neutral you say? Why should we trust fact checkers in any sense then?

At the end of the day Biden provided false information. Why can't you accept that? There is no grey area! It is black and white. It's false! Not True. If it was trump then you and the fact checkers would be all over it like a rash.

They rated it partly true and partly false, but then cut some slack in the analysis. That’s what grey areas are. Things where neither a yes nor a no answer is actually appropriate. Not that you seem capable of comprehending that. You see everything in black and white. Trump made plenty of statements that had elements of truth in them. Most conspiracy theories do too. It’s the way Trump establishes credibility with his base. Biden just made an error.

The fact checkers frequently categorised Trump’s statements as partly true, whilst mostly not.

I would be interested to know what you think they are.

They don't run them by me. Do I think it's likely? In light of some of their other activities then yes I do.

How are your efforts to get back your £10,524 coming along?

Yep, I reckon he's lying again. He knows precisely what this is referring to.
