How people are blaming him for that is almost unbelievable. Williams, his captain, called for the ball. got it and then lost it. Is he meant to ignore his captain? Still I'm sure the one eyed haters will say it's his fault. Williams' fault for calling for it in the first place as well with green shirts lurking around him. He should have left Hennesey to belt it up the park. And Andy Townsend tells what the real reason is for Wales losing. "When Wales lost Joe Allen, upon reflection perhaps Chris Coleman might have introduced somebody else rather than taking Aaron Ramsey away from the forward area of the field." Glad we haven't got Coleman making errors like that for us. O'Neill outclassed him tonight. Edited by chateauferret (09 Oct 2017 10.02pm)

the pundits on RTE have just blamed hennessey's poor distribution for contributing to the goal. and they would be fairly neutral commentators from our ( club ) point of view. Edited by PalazioVecchio (09 Oct 2017 10.19pm)

Can we kill this thread? It's been going on since February! If people still want a Let's all crap on Wayne Hennesey thread, call this volume 1, put it in the archives, and start volume 2. much more efficient.

So RTE the national Irish broadcaster is a neutral in relation to it's national team? Funnily enough BBC Wales who we must now obviously assume are again unbiased in this debate blame Ashley Williams the Welsh captain who clearly called for the ball when he shouldn't have done and subsequently gave it away. Still again that'll be Wayne's fault for giving it to him won't it?

He should have read that and not played him into clear and present danger.

Wales didn't lose because of Wayne which is clearly stated in comments above. As a Wales supporter I am desperately disappointed to miss out on a wonderful chance to be in Russia next summer. Wales have been a three-man team - Bale, Ramsey and Allen. Remove two of them from the equation, as in the Republic game, and there's not much left. And Jonny Williams demonstrated clearly why a succession fo CPFC managers havent rated him. But that's another story.

I think Williams had time to deal with it but left it too late. Wayne looked comfortable for the majority of that game. But that is football
