Not that it makes any difference but it is a Sainsburys/Asda proposed merger.

Something needs to be done as the main stand is 95 years old and has a lot of wood in it. The spectre of the Bradford City fire remains.

Sounds like the lady next door. Dirty old tart.

Because I have watched him make them?

The biggest clanger of his entire career was Frank De Boer. Parish spends over 4 weeks conducting a manager search and hires a manager with questionable man management skills who is famed for possession based slow build up play, who was fired in almost record time from Inter Milan.

We are a close knit club famed for counter attacking football. Need I go on?

So, dreamwaverider, was that a masterstroke or the kind of horrendous mistake that a 3 year old would make?

Parish's general abilities at man managing managers has been poor. Pardew was fired far too late, FDB after being moronically given the reigns wasnt even given time to prove himself. Pulis leaves right before the season. Big Same "retires from football". Holloway had to beg to get fired.

Lets move on to transfers, from the first catastrophic transfer window to the very last one, we have had maybe 2 good windows.

I would point you to a certain January transfer window where we signed Sorloth, Jach and Rakip. Steve said we signed Rakip to make up the numbers in training? WTF.

Squad management has been poor for a long time, but finally after all of these years we do have proper cover in most positions. We have crippled ourselves financially with a massive wage bill to get that done though.

For years we didnt have proper cover in certain positions meaning when Pape Souare had a car crash we didnt have a single specialist left back at the club.

It was not too long ago the Freddie Ladapo was the only fit striker at the club. Selling Glenn Murray, gaff.

Now we see how Parish has handled this HF stuff this season. Makes a quick judgement without consulting supporters than caves in to pressure and does a 180. That is not leadership. Many fans feel rightly hard done by, perhaps not by the decision itself but simply how it was handled.

As I said before, Parish has done several things well, and made some good signings. However he has far outweighed those good moves with mistake after mistake when it comes to the crunch.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

Yes Main Eagle he probably has made all these mistakes and it’s a pretty long list, but there are two bottom lines: he rescued the club from administration and drove the club into the PL in double quick time; secondly we have escaped the relegation trapdoor ( by the skin of our teeth) and this year for the first time, we are just about surviving outside the drop zone, and (sadly enough) for a club like Palace, that’s progress

He only made one mistake with his managerial appointments in the Premier League. That was De Boer and he rectified it very quickly. Seeing and admitting you've made a mistake early is not a bad thing. It's all very well to list these so-called mistakes in hindsight but it's much harder to get every decision right at the time. We operate in a highly competitive market for managerial appointments and players and it's not easy. To get up and stay up over five years is a tremendous achievement.

The point I am making is one of reality. In your opinion and to many others and even myself, Parish has done some odd things to the naked eye, but tonight we are 13 th in the premier, we are one game away from Wembley which if we make it you should really come over for and we have some good players playing some of the best football I have ever seen anywhere (ok i admit i wear red and blue tinted spectacles.) so however many mistakes Parish may make in your eyes, overall after half a century of following this club, we are flying high. Call it lady luck or anything else but by hook or by crook SP just seems to keep delivering. And just to add to the spice, he keeps us all on the edge with so many bizarre moves. And isn’t that what Palace is all about?
We are now a top club with fans like yourself all round the world. How good is that?
We have some of the noisiest fans in England, great atmosphere guaranteed home and away and about to get even louder next season.
The crunch is we are in the top flight for a record time and hope to god we stay, but that uncertainty is Palace and maybe part of the buzz.

I have posted on this topic some time ago, hoping to offer some limited insight as I am a local Council planner myself (not in Croydon).

The construction timescales the club were aiming for always seemed very optimistic to me, given the complexities of the process they have to navigate once planning permission is in place. If they don't break ground on the new stand for another year it wouldn't make it a particularly unusual project.

Quite how this all leads anyone to conclude that the club have made a mess of things, or the Americans are pulling out, or whatever else, I really don't know. My professional opinion is that CPFC have overcome a series of very significant hurdles in getting this far, and done so in a remarkably short period of time. A little dose of reality regarding very large, complicated and multi-faceted developments in London is now creeping in to the project, but that was bound to happen sooner or later.

As a fan, I'm more than chuffed with how far they've got in the time they've taken.

Very brave ofyou to admit your profession on here toe punt, so a very cynical question for you from someone who has had so many applications fail to meet the required time guidelines set by central government for planning, yet with no recourse.
Do you not think it is very odd that a scheme of this magnitude should sail through the bottle necked system in Croydon in what must have been record time??
I mean even you as an officer sounded surprised. Maybe, just maybe there was a lot of red and blue around the table.!
The system is so horrendously outdated and ssooooo slow as you well know., but I am not complaining about this one as like you I was so for it being approved. But I do feel kind of like Zaha, being constantly hacked down getting nothing then finally flaring up and being torched.
Just giving you a flavour of how some of your delayed applicants feel in such a random unbalanced system.

Croydon Council (I would imagine) are keen to keep a Premiership Club within their boundary. re-locating would have been extremely problematic.

As Planning seems to have been fairly straight-forward, I would suggest financial agreements/compensation (with Croydon and Sainsburys) are most likely to cause delays. And these negotiations will be confidential

I disengage, I turn the page.

Won't start until end of season 19/20
And that's if we're lucky

Spurs waited years and years to get everything in order before they could start

This is the latest stated position
