The Press have their own agendas. Interesting that you think this but deny media manipulation elsewhere. I'm glad you've been convinced to change your mind on this.

Labour are definitely on the slide, what with their increased majority in the Tooting by-election yesterday. Ha ha you couldn't make it up.
Desperate stuff.

The Press includes all newspapers of all political affiliations. Of course the Sun, Mail etc are going to paint a bleak picture of Labour's achievements whereas the Mirror and Socialist Worker are going to big it up. I've never denied media manipulation - as I keep telling Bert The Head, I can make my own mind up and don't need spin from the BBC, Sky, Newspapers, Russell Brand, Jeremy Clarkson...... or you!

Whilst I agree that not everyone is easily manipulated and reads around different subjects, there are many that you speak to that actually are taken in by downright lies (that are corrected when challenged but in a tine section in the middle of the paper) that are printed. Repeating the same lies and disingenuous nonsense over and over again does lead people to actually believe it. Look at the ipsos mori poll last week - posted on the EU thread - about what people thought vs reality as evidence of this. People are saying it's a labour heartland so they were bound to win, in many ways true, but the swing from conservative to Labour was 7%. Added to this the gentrification of tooting, much like it's near neighbour battersea (which saw a swing to to tories) I think it's very positive for Labour. Of course you are allowed to have a different opinion, but I happen to think you underestimate support for Labour despite the efforts of at least 3/4 of the media. EDIT: Discussed on Daily Politics earlier - Cocooned media suggesting Labour would implode under Corbyn mentioned. Also mentioned the demographic of Tooting getting 'posher', in fact some were worried that Sadiq Khan winning the seat in the GE could have been in doubt. Edited by nickgusset (17 Jun 2016 12.57pm)

Comrade Corbyn sacks Hilary Benn: Typical paranoid leftie action.

Blimey. I'm not sure why Labour want to oust Corbyn just yet. They keep saying that he was ineffectual during the referendum but there were a higher percentage of Labour voters who voted remain than other parties (bar Ukip)according to many sources. Remember whoever is in charge of Labour would get s*** thrown at them by the press.

Traditional Labour voters defied Jezza's half arsed appeals to Remain and voted for Leave. It's almost as if Jezza didn't believe himself what he was saying about Remain... He has to go. Bye bye Comrade.

Whoever is in charge of Labour they will be trounced in the next GE. 30% of Labour voters have said they won't vote Labour in the next GE. What's best? Corbyn crushed by defeat or Benn crushed by defeat and another leader?
