Briefly poking my vole's snout into this debate - in terms of May's decision to involve Corbyn and his comrades, paying the political price of this decision, only to find that there appears to be no actual benefits to it – because Labour are unlikely to want to be helpful, and because their idea of helpful is neither acceptable nor desirable to the Government is the worst of both worlds. The only person who has gained so far is Corbyn, who accrues a little more legitimacy, and walks a little taller, when a Tory Prime Minister comes begging for his help. And that’s bad news all round. I shall now return to the football debates !

I believe that an "expert" as far as the media is concerned is anyone who will open his mouth and give a statement

I shall now return to the football debates ! Showing up Corbyn for not looking for not helping find a solution will detract from the political gain he achieved. The constant talk of extensions from the EU are showing that they too are scared of a no deal, and they don't want to be the ones to initiate it. I

I didn’t write this, but it partly sums up my attitude towards the hypocrisy on the leave side, and to a lesser extent the remain side flip flopping between criticising MPs then expecting them to deliver. ‘The idiots panting we should ‘just leave’ and ‘we will be ok’ and ‘believe in Britain’ and other assorted spewey phrases of unconsidered putrid bile and fetid hot air need to remember that in order for no deal to be a success, THE SAME PEOPLE that are in charge of the current s*** show right now will have to make it so. There will be a change in leader, but the troops will remain the same. This is honestly the worst thing about the Brexit Fiasco. The empowerment, encouragement and normalisation of this cloudcuckooland blind-faith attitude. Famous politicians and celebrities are saying this stuff, and it has trickled down to the Brexit proletariat. It is, without hyperbole, the road to societal collapse. It’s the antithesis of the scientific method, of the entire modern world, of good governance, of any sort of basic preparation or project management. ‘Something will turn up’ is the feckless ethos of the pawnshop, although in the case of the pawnshop it’s usually caused by the desperation of poverty rather than propagandistic racism. Goves ‘the British people are fed up with experts’ was the most important soundbite to come out of Brexit. A special plague on that c***. Can they not imagine what it will be like when they’ve won? How will they govern without ‘expertise’ from the ‘experts’ they’ve poisoned the well against? Or will there be authorised Brexiter experts, like Pat Minford, who will be listened to? What then, when they’ve caused catastrophes with their nonsense? Do they remain in place as ‘experts’ like the WW1 Generals who’ve just sent 450,000 troops into machine gun fire in a single day and are kept around to do it all again tomorrow? Mooo, in the words of Lord Melchett.’ Made me laugh anyway. Thats based on the premise that they've actually given leaving successfully a proper go. They haven't. They've dragged it out and achieved very little intentionally, as the majority of them want us to remain.

When you hang around long enough you learn that when it comes to prediction the word 'expert' is a misleading word. It's why people still place bets at the bookies. Indeed, I've lived long enough to witness people presented in glowing terms say many things that turned out to be inaccurate. So for me, an 'expert' isn't involved in the theoretical.....You may have very knowledgeable people but I regard the word, 'expert' to be misplaced. An expert is someone involved in the tangible, who can demonstrate an expertise repeatedly. A surgeon, an architect, a carpenter....so on and so forth.
