The Nuno appointment was always likely to not bear fruit and I'm glad it's off the table. Yes, he's done well at Wolves (still let go mind) but he was backed financially, so he's used to that kind of support. We on the other hand are a very different proposition for Nuno (and his backroom team) and we can't be upsetting the applecart to much when we're at this crucial juncture in our top flight journey. Can't help thinking there's a hint of the 'emperors new clothes' about him too so happy for someone else to take the chance with him and his demands. Just hoping Dyche or Cooper (slowly warming to the idea of him) end up with us now.

Shame about Nuno, but we know for sure that Steve P. is an Eagle thru and thru. We'll get a manager soon. When has Palace done it the easy way? Think that's part of why we love our club.

Sadly, it's the usual storey, I suspect the stumbling block was once again lack of cash investment available for investment in new players and too many changes needed making this a very high risk of failure job which no decent proven or even up an up and coming manager would want to put at risk his future reputation!

The worrying thing with Cooper is many of Swansea's fans don't think he's good enough for them and there's a lot of complaints about the way he has them playing. Add that to the lack of experience and I just can't see him being a very attractive option to Parish. On the flipside, he had little to no backing financially and yet got them to the play-off final. Personally, I think it'll be a manager with PL experience, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if we ended up falling back on Allardyce as a safety net. As it stands (and if Nuno is out of the picture), my order of preference would be: Dyche

I do not call allowing him to bring in s*** loads of back room staff, some whose roles were unclear then having to pay compensation to those already in situ, a cash investment.

So would I, but the problem is will it be enough to fill the holes that we now have?...I suspect not and that is the problem now and apart from Roy has been the reason others have walked in the past!

I am a big fan of Ismael but not sure SP will take the risk ( although he may have to). Cooper is an interesting one, has a great record with young players and got Swansea to 2 consecutive play offs. Swansea fans don’t appear to rate him but is that because he had to work without being backed and the squad was not that good? I don’t know.

Nice write up in the athletic which is worth a read. Clearly Parish or someone close has leaked it to get across our side. It is frustrating, but we cannot be held or ransom by ppl, that’s what got this club into trouble in the first place. I say fair play Parish, hold your ground, we go again with the next candidate.
