Advantage the exploitation of advantage has always been the main menu item. Being fairer through the political system is a relatively recent development. I'm not criticizing that but personally I've always thought that the emergence and creation of technology has always been a far more effective bridge of fairness between those who have and those who have less...or bugger all. Hopefully soon enough technology will even solve starvation and death from illness/aging. Then we will truly will be buggered.....It will be Croydon everywhere. I would stand corrected if this poster can direct me to a Tory statement saying the less fortunate are lazy.

Well we know some are....Personally I'd say a lot are genuinely just less fortunate and trying to improve things in a system that only lets a few of them climb up the ladder. I know some Tories do look down on those with less....Just like some on the left look down at the patriotic. Edited by Stirlingsays (16 May 2017 5.44pm)

I did that a few pages back and you didn't respond. Why should I do it again? You're not the only Tory in the village. Besides, I want to see proper counter arguments rather than Lyndon Crosby's soundbites. There must be loads of truly dire policies in there crying out for trumping with quality Tory ones and I'm keen to know what you Tories would do instead.

You are blind to reality and there is little point in engaging with you. What an absurd response. He's made quite a few decent points there, especially on corporation tax rates and the lack of opportunities to large amounts of the country provided by this and previous Tory governments. You've jumped on one point that you disagree with and described and then claimed the post lacks credibility. Sadly evidence suggests that the Tories either are elitist and unfairly treat the least well off or are simply careless and bad at running the country. Or both. Just look at the pamphlets they released with fake disabled people on praising their anti-disability policies.

Not one, this is from what I gather the Tory approach to everything. "You're dumb, we're smarter than you, you're delusional, anything else will f*** up the economy", I'm just a guy on the other end of the tv and to me and many others it just comes across and sound bites, it's all it ever is with the tories, just words with very little to back up anything other than being well spoken and laughing off anyone with a different view. I put my side to you and all you can say is I'm blind, despite the fact I was genuinely asking you a number of questions to try and understand your point of view.

The policies are what's important. Have you read the manifesto and the costings document? None of the revenue raising seems wildly unrealistic and may even end up being conservative. The biggest challenge will be SDLT on bonds etc. but it works on shares so no real reason to believe it can't work. I eagerly await the Tories' version so I can compare.

I didn't start from ignorance at all. I come to my own conclusions and make my own calls on what I see from people and the way I think society should operate. It's called an opinion, just because it's not from the right it doesn't mean it's ignorance. I may of used a cliche in saying they have you believe the poor are lazy but you've used many cliches including "wealth haters" so we're just as bad each other. You still didn't answer a single one of my questions though.

Given he's accurately quoted the parts of the manifesto in question and the largest source of additional tax revenue I'd question whether this represents ignorance...
