Edited by Stirlingsays (03 Apr 2020 1.54pm) It depends upon how much value you place on unnecessary deaths You will be aware of how many deaths have been prevented due to the measure that have been taken. Was it worth it? This is from 3 days ago: We find that,

Or indeed why other countries are apparently coping better without 1.7m state employed workers.

I think the size of our military is around 275 thousand, of which around 192 thousand are active...compared to way over a million in the NHS...What do we spend on the military...around 2 percent? Health, as previously stated takes up a massive percentage of our public spending at nearly 20 percent and if you add the pensions in it's nearly 40 percent. It's a sign of a highly successful society. However, I think it also reveals why the country has gone down certain paths. Edited by Stirlingsays (03 Apr 2020 2.04pm)

So you are saying that despite being the most cost effective health provision in the advanced countries, spending less than half per capita than the US, somehow the UK has got it wrong and should have fewer staff. Wow.

Wow. That’s quite some extrapolation. You’re the one saying it’s underfunded and that other countries are doing better at the moment. All I’m asking is how much more money you would see spent on it?
