It seems that 'protecting the NHS' is more important than protecting the economy that pays for it.

That doesn't answer the exam question

This would be better

I believe that Matt Hancock said that 1.4 million people are employed by the NHS.
I have no idea as to the size of the workforce relevant to other organisations globally.

It depends upon how much value you place on unnecessary deaths

You will be aware of how many deaths have been prevented due to the measure that have been taken. Was it worth it?

This is from 3 days ago:

We find that,
across 11 countries, since the beginning of the epidemic, 59,000 [21,000-120,000] deaths have been
averted due to interventions. In Italy and Spain, where the epidemic is advanced, 38,000 [13,000-
84,000] and 16,000 [5,400-35,000] deaths have been averted, respectively. Even in the UK, which is
much earlier in its epidemic, we predict 370 [73-1,000] deaths have been averted.

Or indeed why other countries are apparently coping better without 1.7m state employed workers.

In 2012 the Telegraph said that the NHS was the fifth biggest employer in the world.

I think the size of our military is around 275 thousand, of which around 192 thousand are active...compared to way over a million in the NHS...What do we spend on the military...around 2 percent?

Health, as previously stated takes up a massive percentage of our public spending at nearly 20 percent and if you add the pensions in it's nearly 40 percent.

It's a sign of a highly successful society.

However, I think it also reveals why the country has gone down certain paths.

Der, because they spend more per capita perhaps.

Der, if the money wasn’t being spent on wages perhaps more would be available.

WTF?

So you are saying that despite being the most cost effective health provision in the advanced countries, spending less than half per capita than the US, somehow the UK has got it wrong and should have fewer staff. Wow.

Presumably people going back to Romania, hard to see anyone flying in this direction at the moment. Farmers are certainly saying they can't get Romanian labour on which they have relied greatly in recent years.

It is an INBOUND flight.

That’s quite some extrapolation. You’re the one saying it’s underfunded and that other countries are doing better at the moment. All I’m asking is how much more money you would see spent on it?

So you don't need one to come over here in order to fly back?
