This always happens. We did it last season. Stoke did it with Pulis. Demand more flair. Blah blah blah. Well, I saw us lose an epic 5-4 last season and I felt sh*t! Dyche is a good manager and a great fit for us. If people get tired of winning more than they lose we'll good luck to you. It's not how I want to spend weekends. I don't think that it has anything to do with flair, it's about ambition. If we only ever set our sights on Aldi (except when we're in the cack), that's the level we'll stay at. This is our fifth season and we should be looking beyond the bottom third; not Europe, but we've already been 11th and 10th and it would be a start if we could at least get back to there. It would seem we're looking at a manager that finished below us this season, despite having had almost five whole seasons at the club and notwithstanding our appalling first half. Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

No I don't know it's a fact just a hunch. Seems to me that Dyche ticks all the boxes that he likes in a manager.English, loyal etc. While I have a feeling the yanks would rather cast their net further a field. Not sure that he'll be regarded as loyal any more if he came to us. In my view it would leave a bad taste in the mouth. Don't approve if poaching managers already in work unless there is clear evidence of their being unhappy.

Personally, I'm surprised that there seems to be so little support for the idea of giving little Sam a go. He's in the system already, has seen how BS succeeded and had a whole heap of involvement in this himself. Apparently he's liked and respected by the players. I'd be happy to see it happen.

Key word, liked. That's where it all goes downhill for coaches when they step into management.

After 158 pages of opinions, some good and some just bizarre. It is obvious there isn't a perfect manager candidate out there, they all have their faults. Good luck Mr Parish with your choice.

This is very much what I posted in that there will be 'Negatives' in relation to ANY manager we appoint for one reason or another.

A few on here and on the Burnley forum moaning about how negative Dyche is with his tactics. Has anyone thought that his reasoning for this is due to having a very average squad with Burnley therefore playing to the strengths that Burnley have and making it all about not conceding due to the lack of flair players they have?? No disrespect to Burnley but they don't have Benteke, Zaha And Townsend. Would be interesting to see how he does with some flair in his team.
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

We are only going to attract managers out of work, because they failed or fell out with the owners, someone at bottom region of the Premier, someone with no Premier experience from lower leagues or abroad. Good luck Mr Parish with your choice. I don't have a problem with abroad, especially if we keep the back office and Sammy Lee who have been about in the Premiership for long enough. I think insisting on "British managers" is closed-minded and restricts our choices for no real reason. I have a bit of a problem with their being s***e though. "Someone at the bottom region of the Premier" might not be s***e, they might only be there because their owners failed to invest in the squad. That could be the case with Dyche.
