I was a bit excited by Santos especially as a good mate is a Wolves fan and was very upset when NES left. To bring an assistant manager is very understandable but a whole team and the dishwasher too?? What's that about?
Always remembering walking from the Holmesdale to the Whitehorse end at half time! |

It was fun while it lasted And please don’t let it be everyone’s flavour of the week and cheap as chips candidate with no top flight experience Cooper (managing the England U17 doesn’t make you a word beater), because we’ll be a dead cert to go down. Typical Palace. Nothing ever straightforward. NES didn't get what he wanted now. May not be a bad thing in the future when he asks for more. I guess greed drives players and managers and they don't realise the stress clubs are under after nearly two seasons with no fans. This reminds me of what Howe did. That didn't go well for him, good luck Nuno....

If any is to be believed seems Nuno has loyalty to his team, a selfless rather than selfish position.

If he comes with a vast set of staff then he leaves with them too, and we are left with a ghost ship every time we change manager, not to mention the vastly increased cost of sacking not just one man, or two, but half a dozen.

The reports are that the demands were too much for Palace and they've decided to walk away. That's all we know. Mendes isn't a "bogeyman", he is simply not the type of person we should be getting into bed with. And the question marks over how it would all fit in with our particular club and structure was always an elephant in the room that very few Palace fans wanted to come to terms with. Of course people on the BBS are upset about this, because they live in an echo chamber where disagreement isn't tolerated and this morning was their scheduled w*** fest. Parish & Dougie have got their own set up in place. Their job is to protect the long term interests of this club. They need to hire a manager who fits in with the structure we have in place and is prepared to work go with the intention of building & progression over the long term. I'd rather us compromise on getting a "big name" than compromise on the fundamental set up of the club. As I said, if they've walked away, it will be with good reason either way. And I cannot say I'm overly disappointed by it. Edited by Mstrobez (09 Jun 2021 9.52am) Unlike the notorious Dazza you have been completely vindicated - anyone trying to be specific about details is probably barking up the wrong tree, we may well have been 'played' - I personally would like to thank you for p*ssing on this bonfire, though I am disappointed I should probably feel more relieved. Though I do get the sense Parrish isn't panicking, we have an infrastructure which is self-managing, we know what type of players we need, and Dougie and/or Derry might be caretakers before we get the right person in - why not?

A cynic might wonder if we're linked to a couple of big names before appointing someone with a lesser reputation. At least we look ambitious.
