I know we get some stick, but a young right back, creative midfielder and proven striker sounds like a decent offseason. Especially as we haven't really lost anyone. Getting those 3 positions and keeping Zaha would have been about as good as an offseason as I would have hoped for coming into it.

I also like Mitchell. He seems to have been proven as at least a good backup option for PVA. and hoping we get Downes to form part of the upcoming midfield with Banks and Kirby.

Then in the winter / next spring work on getting a younger CB and central midfielder.

As per Dazza's lineup, I really hope this is the case. That's a really good front 4 that'll scare most defenses.

Don’t need another striker as we have:

Ayew
Benteke
Batshuayi

Then you can play worst case - Eze, Zaha or Schlupp

Palace close to deal for Bright Osayi- Samuel

Building a squad with depth.

Sorry but Benteke is no longer in any shape or form a striker , he’s injured with 9 months left on his lucrative contract which he will see out by not being fit by Xmas to play .. by then he will be negotiating a sweet contact in Belgium, where more than likely get will score a hat full of goals.

Maybe not in this window, but with all 3 of our so-called 'main' strikers the wrong side of 25, we could use a young one with promise. Do we have any in our academy who may make the grade?

You forgot about Connor whickham of course and if we are so hard up why aren’t we cashing in on sorloth surely there is some money to be had on him somewhere

Wickham more than likely to go out on loan.

Sorloth very complicated but again likely to leave giving Palace some further funds.

Before anyone moans at me I will update what I have been told:

Palace had agreed a deal for Gallagher as Chelsea were demanding £20m for Batsman so Palace felt they had no chance.

Chelsea then approached Palace with a deal that would extend Batsman to another 12 month contract meaning Palace can take him on loan & then buy him at the end of the season for £20m so in effect protecting their asset so they dont lose him for free whilst also giving Palace the striker they wanted now.

This meant Palace had to withdraw from the Gallagher deal so will now push ahed with the Downes Deal.

This means Palace stay within the FFP as the £20m for Batsman will come out of the 21-22 budget.

All round a great deal for Palace & th final piece of the attacking jigsaw:

Team will look like this depending on injuries & Roys preference:

Guiata

Ferguson Cahill Tompkins PVA

Mcarthur Jairo

Ayew Eze

Batsman Zaha

Subs
Kouayte
Schluup
Townsend
Luka
Benteke
Sakho
Ward
Mayer
Dann
Kelly
Hennessey
Mitchell
MCcarthy

Is Scott Dann still with the club?

If Riedewald is played as central midfielde, I expect one of Meyer or McCarthy to leave so there will be 2 players in each position.

Do you not watch us?

Dann has played in our last few games including all pre season.

Riedewald has been one of our best players in pre season. He's decent and defiantly deserves more game time in midfield.
