This post has been merged from a topic called 'Is there a hold up with re-development?' by bexleydave It is a requirement laid down by the Mayor of London's office, that there is no net loss of housing due to development. In the case of the new stand application approved by Croydon Council, as there are six (4 bedroomed) houses which need to be demolished, CPFC have to therefore provide six brand new (4 bedroomed) houses somewhere in the Borough of Croydon. It is not simply enough for CPFC to buy six existing houses and donate them to the housing department, they have to be brand new houses which haven't already got existing consent to be built. It is not an easy task by any means to find such a piece of land - if it was, a developer would have snapped it up ages ago. Palace are working in partnership with local developers to try and achieve this, but it is no easy feat. It was thought that 6 such houses could be squeezed in between the back of the Holmesdale Stand and the pavement (where the ticket windows and programme room are - after all, all tickets are presold these days and have been for years, and programmes can be sold anywhere, on street corners) But the replacement houses issue is the main sticking point ATM (there are a few other minor points too, some largely financial, but these are easily dealt with) You could probably get 6 flats on the car lot on Park Rd and if push comes to shove I would imagine Parish has a big enough garden (I don't know if he lives in Croydon borough) stick them in there

One of the biggest mysteries in life is that loud stupid people normally don't have even the slightest inclination that they are stupid. |

Any updates on this ?? No. The last comment from Parish was that it was unlikely (read definitely) that a start would be made at the end of this season as their were "problems" with us committing to the required infrastructure requirements in the surrounding area. It's backburnered for the foreseeable and I'd frankly be amazed if I live long enough to see it happen.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Indeed I have been aware of the transparency in Norway in respect of tax-returns. Now there's a surprise! Presumably you have a Norwegian contact who advised you of such matters

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave The council, Sainsbury's and the locals all want as much as they can get out of this, Palace would effectively be making up for 25 years of lo cal underinvestment I wouldn't be surprised if the cost of buying out the homes, relocating them, appeasing the tenants all the council infrastructure levy money and Sainsbury's land, would cost Palace £20m Edited by dorking (24 Dec 2018 9.37am)

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave I spoke with a Wooderson Close resident at the weekend. There is still plenty to be agreed between CPFC, the council and Sainsbury's. The expectation is that no building work will start before 2020.

How do the residents feel about this? What is in it for them? I think Sainsbury will be a massive stumbling block but not sure why.
