Very interesting, I wonder how the EU takes it in. From the EU's perspective: A no deal is still on the table and looking most likely. That is the worst case scenario for them (and possibly us, but we are already in a mess so how can it get worse). A people's vote could happen. If they want us to remain in the EU this is their beat means of achieving it. In that case, they won't want to soften their deal with the UK. However, they might be wise in offering some better incentives to stay. France, Spain, Italy, and Germany are all having domestic problems and are fed up of brexit. A UK wide customs union is popular. Drop the backstop and throw something else onto the bargin and they might avoid a no deal, they might even get a second referendum. At the moment, it appears the only people who can unlock the deadlock are the EU. Up to them to offer something now. I think if there is a no deal and the status of millions of EU citizens gets thrown into doubt, then we will come to a more suitable arrangement very quickly. Admittedly, not the most ethical strategy but we've tried to play nicely and they wanted to have their cake and eat it during both Cameron's and May's negotiations. As soon as the EU faces up to its own shortcomings it will become a much better organisation.

I will indeed have a great evening here in the sunshine, as we creep ever closer to consigning this brexs*** show to the scrap heap!!! yipppeeeee!

Never gonna happen. No deal is NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. You need to move on with your life.
None of us know what's going to happen. 'No deal' was the most popular option with the highest number of voters recently so who knows. Edited by Stirlingsays (02 Apr 2019 12.05am)

Edited by Stirlingsays (02 Apr 2019 12.05am) In a recent survey of Conservative members, nearly 75% supported 'No Deal' and this reflects the strong support of this option amongst many members I have spoken to. My understanding is that Theresa May has ruled out this option but we live in times of great uncertainty and events and circumstances can change opinions.Protracted Cabinet meeting scheduled to discuss the way forward. The Ken Clarke proposal was very close tbh, I don't see what's wrong with it, it's a fair compromise, as is Common Market 2.0
