According to the press and some on here, labour were going to lose hundreds of seats. They lost 18.

If you look at your graphic. Labour already were at a high water mark so would have been hard pushed to make many gains.

Also, haven't the opposition been quite successful in forcing quite a few u-turns? Hardly a sign of failure.

A swing of 8% to labour isn't really going backwards is it?

Ahahahaha nick really ?? whatever lets you sleep at night sweet heart.

He's never ever going to be PM. Hilary Benn on the other hand ....

Sweetheart? And I thought we only had a platonic relationship.

HOL's very own King Canute.

Success is judged by results at the polls. Labour lost seats, lost Wales and lost Scotland. You simply cannot describe that as success.

They lost Wales but have the first minister. Hmm

You know they are a minority government in Wales.

Yes. But I'm also aware they staved off a concerted challenge from Plaid Cymru

Success should be based on representation of your constituents and the people, not whether you can seize power from the other guy.

Here in lies the problem of politics, its about winning not being right.

So you are judging success as losing but losing better than expected?

If that is your criteria for Corbyn, you are going to be very happy with his results over the next few years.

Many predicted major losses. Scottish Labour is in disarray, mainly because they opted for the stay camp so were being punished by voters for that. The Snp were always going to come out top there.

But in England they held steady, despite the doomsayers.

It is a shame that the attacks are on the leader and not the policies. And people are hoodwinked by it.

If Hoof is right that labour will lose because Corbyn is scruffy, then it is a shot state of affairs.

Corbyn the movie.

Watch Jezza sign apples.

Watch Jezza get paranoid about all media outlets, including his comrades at the British Betrayal Corporation and the Guardian.

Watch his male only clique tell the emperor he does have clothes on.

Great points made on the basis of real events rather than vacuous 'Mail/Telegraphesque opinion. ' Recent Mayoral AND Council Elections hardly yielded a ringing endorsement towards The Conservative Government with no replacement for part-time Boris; coupled with Labour now presiding over most council seats within England. Hardly a case of Cobyn's Labour failing.
