The rhetoric in politics both here and abroad is pretty vile at times. This is nothing new,Aneurin Bevan Health Minister and Housing Minister 1945 onwards said that the Tories were lower than vermin. The press the next day said he called the Tories vermin, so he called a press conference the following day to explain,he did not call them vermin they are MUCH lower than vermin.

Is this whataboutism or are you confirming that the left have always been tossers? I'm not sure. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (15 Jul 2024 1.11pm)

One thing is for certain, given the response from many s***-Libs, is that we are heading for a shooting war at somestage. Because if they start celebrating attempted political assassinations then you have to assume that we are well past the stage of Jaw Jaw. These f***ers would have been literally celebrating in the streets if Trump had been killed. There can be no more giving them the benefit of the doubt. Never has the friend/enemy distinction been so vitally important to grasp. Edited by Matov (15 Jul 2024 11.24am) I have seen no such responses. Mind you I don’t go looking for them either so maybe in odd corners, that are the polar opposite of this one, they exist. What’s for sure is that mainstream opinion won’t any more be celebrating this than celebrating any other shooting. The way to defeat bad ideas is with better ones.

The rhetoric in politics both here and abroad is pretty vile at times. What amazes me is how readily people here, and on the right generally, are unable to determine context. The “BBC guy” was David Aaronovitch posting in his own name on X in the light of the Supreme Court ruling about Presidential immunity. It was clearly satire, a parody about where the limits of Presidential power now lies. He was by far not the only one to make this point. It was not a serious suggestion. It was a serious point about a concerning development. Reacting to it with demands for bans and sackings is simply ridiculous and evidence of a narrow mind. Trump suggesting he could get away with shooting someone on 5th Avenue wasn’t treated by the left as a serious threat he would do it, was it? They didn’t demand he be locked up for that.

What you actually already know is that I am not a troll. I have posted here for many years. That I hold opinions that differ from the majority here is obvious, but out in the real world mine are much closer to the majority view than those inside the right wing bubble that dominates here. It’s you that’s unusual, not me. This is not a site devoted to right wing politics. It is a forum of the football club I have supported for 70 years. I have belonged since its inception. Trolls deliberately disrupt. I don’t. I post my opinions. Opinions of a fellow supporter. You don’t agree with them. I don’t agree with yours. That’s life! I personally don’t think you’re a Troll and see your commitment towards the club we have all supported since childhood. I consider myself a very normal middle of the road citizen who has worked every day for the betterment of his family. Not right wing in any way just normal and average. I have little affiliation to Trump although did quite like the “celebrity apprentice”. Joe, his political cohorts, immigration, foreign policy, inflation, WOKE ideals, media bias etc have driven me that way. Living this on a daily basis in the US is draining. You’re not alone in your comments and beliefs but no less palatable than your mirror image on the right!!! The “majority” of normal Americans are in the middle forced to choose a side! I have chosen mine, and will live with the consequences!!

I'm hearing that there was a 'protect trans kids' sign in the window of the property the shooter lived at.

wow, just wow. The American economy seems to be doing quite well from the data i can see abortions have been the woman's right to choose for c50 years now they are the big problems. Trump, who is late 70s and essentially lives on a diet of McDonalds, has made many gaffs himself of late and has court cases piling up in addition to the ones he has already lost. If he gets back in he will enable Putin to take over Ukraine (is he already a Russian asset - the FBI are unsure!) which will destabilise the whole of Europe and potentially further afield e.g. China in Taiwan, he will reverse any climate change initiatives and will put all his mates into senior positions. To say the US economy is doing quite well is the 'wow' factor here. Sure Trump makes gaffs, however he isn't in cognitive decline and he hasn't had a massive media machine lying about it. Considering Biden is president the fact that the US left have been covering for his decline for years sums up their moral position entirely....they have no leg to stand on with Trump as they have lied enough for satan himself. Excuse me but calling Trump a Russian asset after security services have wasted tens of millions to find no evidence for it speaks to us that facts don't mean anything to you. Russia has already destroyed Ukraine as a country and it could all have been avoided. Trump will bring peace to this war, but no....Russia won't be taking all of Ukraine....People like you and me will be paying for it for generations to come. All because the State department have had a policy of regime change in Russia and having failed now have us pay for it.....along with higher energy and food prices. But hey, you keep blaming Trump.
