Question - if the release clause stipulates it can only be triggered by a club in the Champions League, does that mean that the alleged discussions with Chelsea and other clubs not in that competition are based on a normal transfer basis ie 1. A fee [north of £60M] would have to be agreed with Palace as the release clause value does not apply ?

Very good questions; my sense is that nobody really knows and both Olise and Palace are saying nothing for understandable reasons. It will all eventually come out as I would be surprised if he stays for the length of his contract signed last summer - apparently 4 years.

So buying club need to agree fee with Palace probably in excess of release clause but could be phased which on release clause is unlikely. The payments direct to Olise and Reading may also be negotiable too. Yes we could and will refuse an offer that we don't think is advantageous for club. But we also want both Olise and to a certain extent Eze to think we are acting fairly. Eze I understand to be a gentleman agreement that we will not stand in his way if a satisfactory offer comes in. Our history with Zaha will not stand us in good stead as he is alleged to think we broke his agreement over Arsenal. Chelsea according to clickbate want to pay in instalments I think we will refuse unless fee is well in excess of 60 and initial payment is sufficiently large

Latest clickbait has Chelsea offering 30 Million plus Madueke which isn't that bad a deal, Olise is very good but he has had numerous injuries I'm personally not keen on Madueke but the bigger picture is likely to be his wages. a lesser player for probably double the wages? No thanks

No thanks According to Sportrac, he is on 50,000 a week (half Olise's current wage) and his contract does not expire until the summer of 2031. A lesser player, for sure, but one that was a regular for Chelsea during their good end-season form and currently on a salary 25%, at maximum, of what Olise will be receiving if he moves to Chelsea. I suspect he will resist a move to us Chelsea's salaries are amazing. Players who played little for them last year. Lukakau, Sterling, James, Chilwell, the 2 Fofanas and Nkunku are all in the 195,000 to 325,000 a week, Those alone cost their club in excess of 75 million

Reports on X from various sources saying Palace have given Newcastle permission to speak to Olise. If he goes for £60 million that is like being mugged. He is a £90 - £100 million pound player

He is a £90 - £100 million pound player IF the rumours about his 'release' clause are tru, any club can ask for permission to talk to him, BUT, if they ain't CL clubs, they will have to pay what SP states. Olise is free, however, to talk to & agree terms with any club he's allowed to by the club, whether he closes them, is a different matter. Clickbait/bbc are desperate to sell our players coz we've frightened the big boys.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Being a bit hypocritical here we took advantage of a sell on clause when we got him from Reading, hope he stays but if not we get a decent ish fee for him and move on, it will always happen that money talks, I think our most important person to keep is Glasner, won’t be long before so called big sides will be looking
