I'll just add this quote from Roy I've pulled form the BBC:

"Fans will have come here with high hopes. Unfortunately at the moment, especially given the situation we find ourselves in, not even being able to field a team a bit more capable of doing that, you have to accept it isn't always going to work out that way."

Firstly, what does he mean 'high hopes'? Did we expect Palace to romp to victory away at BHA? No. That our established PL team with multiple internationals etc might compete against our biggest rivals? Yes. And of course we didn't see that.

Secondly, get to f**k Roy. You can't keep coming out and saying 'we're sh!t and the fans are unhappy because they delusionally expect us to win every game'. It's f**king insulting to us and the players. Absolute mug.

He is SO condescending. This is where Parish shows his lack of balls and vision. At 76, Roy has no real further ambition but picking up a check. And we expect him to motivate 23 year olds?

Those who still back Hodgson's retention will argue that much of what had been said on this thread is simply a reaction to losing heavily to what is seen by many as our arch rivals.

However, I think that most if not all of the people who've expressed sentiments amounting to "it's time for Hodgson to go" on this thread will still feel the same about our manager, his tactics, his training systems etc,. tomorrow morning and in the days and weeks to come.

I was so disappointed when I saw the line-up - an invitation to Brighton to come and score, an invitation they gleefully accepted. Under Hodgson, we play the most boring, negative and ineffectual football in the PL.

If we are going to be relegated (and only points deductions for Everton and Forest seem the only thing that will avoid that happening) let's at least go down fighting rather than with a whimper.

Our future may well be decided in the next 5 games with home games against Burnley and Luton and an away game at Forest plus two London derbies. Fail to win any of those (quite possible with Olise and Eze absent for some if not all of those fixtures) and the rest of our fixture list will see us staring relegation in the face.

If anyone has had the unpleasant talk with a father/mother about going into a nursing home, I feel this is what Parrish is trying to delay. Roy saved us, steadied the ship, passed the baton to Viera and down the line took it back up again. He's clearly out of his depth now, Parrish must know, but ....,?

Nice analogy, I think you're right.

It is a shame, I think we all wanted Roy to sail off into the sunset after a decent season, but it's a results business, and while we don't expect to win all the games, especially with our horrendous injury luck this season, we do expect fight and to give youth a chance.

You'll be forever in my family's memories and it was an honor and privilege to play and lead in the red and blue
Yours sincerely
Mile Jedinak

Such a tsunami of postivity! Fact is, we're only 2 points down on the corresponding fixtures from last season, just for some pespective. NOBODY likes this crappy run, but who should replace Roy, even if he were to go?? We've often been without Olise and Eze and now without impressive Ducoure and hopefully not Guehi...among others.
Magic wand anyone?? Keep feet on the ground...

Hope to God we don't see equally useless Paddy put in charge, even temporarily, just as a cost saving exercise.
Need to put someone like Cooper in charge immediately to keep us up,some new blood rather than a tired old man, bereft of ideas.

Patrick Vieira was sacked after a difficult set of fixtures which culminated in a 1-0 loss to BHA. I don't know what Hodgson has to do for Parish to finally give him the heave-ho. Today's 4-1 defeat against the same side that ended Vieira's Palace career was as bad as it gets.
Hodgson this season has served up a far far worse series of abysmal performances and results than Vieira ever came close to matching.
In short Vieira came nowhere near to replicating the awful sense of hopelessness that Hodgson has inflicted on the club this season.
Mr Parish, what is holding you back?

The firet half display was as bad as I've seen for a lomg time.
I know it's an old cliche about players not playing for the manager, but it really looked that way today.
Even Roy's favourites like Ayew didn't appear to put in the usual shift.
The team looked wrong from the start and lacked structure, organisation, competitive spirit and attacking intent.
If we're being honest this has been the case for much of recent months.
If it was any manager other than Roy he would have been dismissed by now.
I'm not sure why Parish is hesitating.
Perhaps he doesn't want to be seen as the man who shot Bambi, but in my view it's damaging the club.

We need a younger manager and now, not at the end of the season. Step forward Neil Warnock!

Mate this is unreal even by Roy standards..!!

The man is simply deluded - I’ve said it on many occasions he’s obsessed with playing proven mediocrity over potential and talent..!!

He’s so blinkered and arrogant it beggars belief..!!

But also as I said before this is the same Roy that had Englands now top goalscorer taking corners in the Euros, dismissed Roberto Carlos and then turned down Haaland in favour of signing Ayew..!!

Yet people still believe he is some sort of Managerial genius - he simply ain’t - he’s an overrated “has been” - if he was indeed ever even the latter..!!

Now it’s just all arrogance and increasingly non sensical selections, tactics from yesteryear and press conferences that are bordering on the hysterical..!!

Simply just got to go..!!

I have a feeling the atmosphere could get a little toxic toward Roy if we capitulate against Chelsea like we did today against Brighton.

In fact it may get toxic well before that and I can’t see Parish being able to handle that in front of home fans.

It’s all about his approach to football in general- dull, cautious, negative.

It must be sucking the life out of our young players.

We need a new man to breed hope and optimism into players and staff.

Today - is a real Low point. NO MORE - HE HAS TO GO!
