It's all there to be done. If we can pull in a couple of good forwards and two paces wing backs then we will be on to something special. By then some of our academy guys may have cut their teeth.

We've been saying this for a while now though, haven't we? On the cusp of putting together a solidly decent side, a couple of players, "if only we had" the overused catchphrase of the moment.
And now I can't accept that it's solely down to finance - £40m spent on players that are not of immediate necessity to the first eleven.

This guy could be our saviour..

Young, with progressive ideas and, like Roy Hodgson, multi-lingual BUT 44 years younger! And unlike RH in every other respect!

"Meet Will Still – the English manager, 31, flying highest in Europe" (Times article today)

A quote about Reims: "Before we were 5-4-1, defensive, boring and I said, 'Stuff it' let's have a go, we are conceding a s*** load of goals in any case. So we turned it on its head and now we are 5th in Ligue 1"

Nothing ventured, nothing gained and I think he could bring on our youngsters and save a shed load of transfer cash.

Prefer him to Cooper, Potter or Rodgers.

Very Interesting Man, good spot, never heard of him before you mentioned him

I had certainly heard of him and indeed had some discussions about Will Still with certain learned gentlemen.

From my perspective he is relatively inexperienced as a manager so to thrust him into a PL cauldron might be a high-risk strategy. However if we get relegated..... !

That sounds a good plan and one that may be needed!

Steve Cooper and Gary O'Neil are the two most sensible and viable options for me.

As far as I'm aware, Steve Cooper went through the process and then turned us down. I speculated it was transfer budget/ structure but just speculation. The turning down was last minute so something put him off.
I wouldn't mind but it seems to have happened with a couple of managers.

My recollection was the other way round; after in depth discussions with Cooper, Palace were uncertain and there were split opinions amongst the decision makers. Hence, they never made him an offer and turned their attentions elsewhere.

I like the Bournemouth manager, Andoni Iraola, done well at real Valecano, or Gary O´Neill, but i still think it will be Paddy.

One just can imagine the wailing and lamentation with cries of "Cheap option", "No managerial experience" etc etc.

Under Iraola, Rayo Valecano finished 10th and 12th in La Liga and his win percentage was just under 40%.

Paddy, apparently, was very pleased for some reason, with our performance against Arsenal in our 4-1 thrashing in his one game in charge and clearly lacks any experience in the Premiership, although may well thrive should we find ourselves in the Championship.
