I really don’t get why Schlupp gets such a hard time on here. I rate him highly. Powerful, direct, hardworking with a decent strike. You’d expect Eze to move into his spot when either Franca or Olise are back, even so, he’s a terrific impact sub. ???? Hardworking? He seems to roam around in no man's land, is surprisingly unfit and contribute very little when he is in the starting line-up. Leave him on the bench and if we chase a result, bring him on with 20 minutes left with one message: "Jeff, go for goal and shoot!"

I can't remember many times we had Mateta and Edoard on at the same time, certainly worked yesterday. Last minute goal from Wolves was annoying, as was first from set piece
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

He is like one of those kids toys cars that you wind up and just let go.

Ex players always said Fergie was at his most dangerous not when they lost but when they won making mistakes. Hopefully Roy and Ray will give them the hairdryer.

I think Roy's summary was spot on. Really below par performance in the first half. A better team than Wolves would have punished us for that. Second half was much improved going forward, but those two goals conceded were a disappointment. A lot of forwards are ' confidence ' players, and Edouard and Mateta should both be in a good place now. Pity we have the International break coming up. As for Schlupp, he brings a balance to the team but he wasn't helped by his central midfielders on Saturday. Too many bad decisions and poor passes. He's had better days but I never doubt his commitment. A good, solid start to the season, and with players still to come in.

Eze has a free role, he will not be moved from that, i dont want him having to run back to cover the full back

I’m glad Edouard managed to make a mockery of the arm chair critics on here. Excellent 3 points on what must have been a roasting afternoon pitchside. 7 points from 4. Got to be happy with that. Edited by Bexley Eagle (03 Sep 2023 10.25pm) I agree, Alan Smith a top ex C/F commentating was full of praise for Edouard’s all round play and not just his two goals.I know who I take note of more than the as you say armchair critics on hear who no nothing about football.

I am an armchair supporter these days and not through choice and I admit to having been one of the majority who was critical of both our forwards last season. I'm delighted to note their improved form is evident for all to see, including Alan Smith whose commentary on matches is usually first rate.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Up to yesterday I thought the pairing of Doucoure and Lerma was the way forward for us but I thought they both had poor games. If I’m critical on one thing about Hodgson yesterday, it’s that last goal by Wolves. Ayew had run his socks off and needed replacing at 80 minutes. That didn’t happen? It’s possible with someone else supporting Ward the crosser may not have had enough time to get it in? Easy to say now :-)
