I don't think anyone is talking about 'buying our way into the top 4', just a little desire to improve and get into the top 10, but that will require the board to step up during the rest of this week.

Brighton have been quoted as an example of a club we could emulate but according to this article their financial situation isn't that great. I'd rather avoid their model which by now would probably have seen Eze, Guehi and Olise all sold.
Admittedly they have a good scouting system but they can't keep finding £50m players to sell.

So, one place higher than last season...that's achievable.

Yes, and an improvement on what has gone on before. I believe that above all else, Roy is a realist.

Well, guess you will have to go on not believing. Shame you aren't a multi millionaire yourself, you could be showing us and Parish how to run a football club without worrying about that pesky thing called Debt.

And just fyi ;

Manchester United owe a staggering £969.6 million through gross debt, bank borrowings and outstanding transfer fees. The club released their second quarter results to December 31, on Thursday, and the huge debts could provide an obstacle ahead of a possible takeover. That's as of March this year.

I dont need to become a millionaire, we have billionaires who own us. What's the point tho if they won't even invest. They're obviously not that interested or they wouldn't have been part of a consortium to buy man u.

I have said it before but, Rikz i think your crackers,

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

That report is very poorly written. It talks about debt and profits in virtually the same sentence. I would have thought it would have been a lot simpler to show players in cost, players out revenue and then you could look at the overall cost of player transfers. Salaries, day to day costs are sort of irrelevant to examining their model as they should be covered by the monies obtained from Sky and ticket/merchandise sales.

The reason they can and do follow the model they have is because they have identified many more players with potential than we have. If we sold our 5 best players we would be relegated without doubt. They have sold 5 of their best players in the last couple of seasons without really altering their league position. I believe they will continue to find players of value, quite simply because they have a scouting system that works.

Two of those came into the club with no interest in spending on playing squad this was made clear from day 1 from SP who had to go with them he couldn't fund the club.

The money they paid for the club was ring fenced suppose to be for the ground.

You say whats the point well the point is they paid about 50m now the club is worth 3 times that this is was investment is about.

People get confused with wealth these people may be worth say billion each doesn't mean they have any available funds why would you you invest it all which is the case here.

They're a great example of an investor who actually invests, they're in debt to bloom, so no debt, he bought them in league 1 without a stadium and is probably the most successful owner during his tenure. He could sell tomorrow, which he won't and make profit.

I'm sure if Parish had the money then he would do the same but he doesn't, our biggest shareholders are 2 Americans who I don't think have ever been to a game, wanted to buy Chelsea, then man u and probably Liverpool next. We was told their investment would give allow us to build a new stand, which was supposed to be completed about 4 years ago.

Who cares about the clubs accounts, look at utds accounts, they operate at a loss as do most clubs, we know its not because they don't have enough money, are we utd, no, but I don't belive we don't have enough money to strengthen the positions that are so plainly obvious.

Last one from me in this as we are going round in circles.

What do you mean when you say that you 'don't believe'? It's not a matter of faith, or even opinion, but of maths.

I think 'Who cares about the club accounts' is probably a good motto for those complaining about the club's transfer spend.
