Evening everyone, hope you’re all doing well. Here’s a video detailing everything you need to know about potential new signing Matheus Franca in under 3 minutes for those interested. This kid is not only one of the most talented footballers in South America but also the world, think Palace have hit the jackpot here. As always, I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have and would love to hear your thoughts, cheers! Cheers sir, nice one. Him and Eze together could be quite something. Let’s hope so anyway. Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Perhaps an official announcement tomorrow? The club will need to film a painfully cringey new signing reveal video first. Probably find a Brazilian steakhouse in South London to do it from first

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

OK I'm ready for some abuse but am I the only one slightly warry of this signing. Seems a precocious talent and may be brilliant but a route through Portugal or Spain may be better.

I was wondering why he wasn't on the radar of various Southern European teams. It's highly unusual for a young Brazilian to jump straight into English football at the highest level. Given our starting 11 I am curious to see how he will fit in to the midfield without compromising the delicate balance that has been achieved between the players we already have there. Edited by southnorwoodhill (01 Aug 2023 7.48am) Perhaps Palace supporters should breakaway from tradition and give him a chance, by all means crucify him after a few poor games. Otherwise it will be all uphill.

I’d love that.

I think with Zaha gone and as you say Olise injured and the multiple reports of them being sold for high sums in future years that this makes sense. Whether it works out we have to wait and see. The recruitment has been good in the last couple of years so we can allow ourselves to have some optimism. Perhaps the plan is to create so many chances with our exciting and gifted midfielders that any combination of Mateta and / or Edouard will be able to knock in 20 goals.
