Never been to an away game with such a lack of passion and noise. PV and his dogs*** football is sucking the life out of this football club. The football served up today (and most weeks) was turgid.

His days are numbered at our club. Absolutely no surprise Lampard and Gerrard have been canned already. Quality player reputation does not carry through to tactical or managerial nouse.

I think Vieira is here til the end of the season at least and might not be sacked even if we go down. The next few games are games we wouldn’t be expected to get anything from and by the time they’re done it’ll be too late to bring someone else in. We live or die by our games against the teams currently below us.

Not sure about todays line up. Playing Eze and Olise in an away game is risky given how poor they are defensively. I had hoped Wilf would come back after his break with a new lease of life as his firm has been indifferent this season. Decoure’s red card was a killer but maybe we’ll see Ahamada getting a game. The only positive I would take from today was 10 minutes of Jimmy Mac. We are going to need him!

Parish's mismanagement is seeing us hurtle towards the Championship - saved us in 2010 but that is SO in the past !
You cannot compete at this level by standing still and recruitment needs to be better than we have managed.

If we cannot achieve the desired points we need during our last Six Games then we deserve to go down, sacking our manager is not the way to go, quite ridiculous to be honest.

I’d rather get relegated

My thoughts on the day. I had forgotten what a s*** hole the surrounding area to Villa Park is. No beer in the upstairs stand. The chicken balti pie was about the highlight of the day if you discount the Wilf goal that wasn’t.
As for the game two poor teams. Once we went behind we never looked capable of a goal. No complaints with the sending off. We actually played better with 10 men. Hey ho another wasted away day trip to see the only shot we had on target was actually offside.

Got to agree there. We tried but when there is nothing coming from the players to enthuse about it’s difficult. Villa fans were abysmal. The occasional yippee kayaaa or whatever and that was about it. That’s my last away game for a while. The cost is prohibitive and to be honest it’s mostly a waste of time

You have some valid points but to say we look solid in midfield is a stretch. Eze and Olise are show ponies, can't defend, can't win the 50-50 ball etc. Good at some set pieces but that's it. Mitchell can be a liability at times but its all we've got. We bought Ferguson in 2020 but he's always injured (don't think he's made an appearance in the 1st team yet) !

Olive’s set pieces today were awful. Apart from the pass for the offside goal Eze did nothing. However these are the only players we have that have the ability to create anything. But you can’t start both away from home. (I am excluding Wilf as he will be gone at the end of the season.)

Mitchell must have put half a dozen crosses in to no one. Is it his fault he doesn’t look up or his teammates fault for not making the effort to be on the end of them.

Ferguson played about 10 mins away to Spurs last season. Not that I remembered as I was so pissed that day and caught Covid.

Our dip in form and the resurgence of teams below us is getting worrying now, yet I don’t see PV getting animated on the touch line, in fact quite the opposite.

With 3 tough games coming up it’s not going to get better unless we do the unthinkable and do our usual smash and grab at Brighton. But first up Man City and anything from that game would be a bonus, I’m not holding my breath!

I have been slammed on the forum for my comments, However I will
continue.
The squad now is predominantly composed of players of an Afro-
Caribbean culture. Culture does not mean colour of skin.
This culture is more " laissez-faire " than Northern European
cultures and hence is not renowned for spirit, fight and
dedication as personified by players such as Derry, Macarthy,
Hill, Delaney et al.
The present squad with perhaps the exception of Zaha, Anderson,
Ward do not have these qualities.
Jimmy Mac and Hughes also have them but are not given ample
playing time.
