Shame, they always got along so well!

In other news, is anybody as fortunate as I to sit at home half working, half watching the WC?

Cameroon vs Serbia certainly shook the theme of the bore, goalless draw!

I have Covid so have seen most of it. Will likely return to work in a couple of days. They're probably suspicious that it coincided with the World Cup.

Fair enough sir.

I took last Monday off when we were playing Iran. Given my well known association with our SE London club, an investigation as to why this was had been deemed unnecessary.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

It's thrown up some interesting results with plenty of twists and turns to go. I've been enjoying it.

I'm a self-employed writer so I've had the TV on while writing, looking up when the commentators get excited. It's actually not a bad way to follow the World Cup, although I'm not sure how much it has affected my work. Today has really delivered though in terms of drama. I hope the next two games are as exciting as the last two. Well done to Ayew for proving his doubters wrong.

I just had a weird moment as I quite like Ecuador, despite Ivan Kaviedes, but thought 'I want Senegal to win for Kouyate'. Realised he f**ked off to Forest then became firmly Ecuadorian once more, before thinking 'well actually I quite like Senegal but then again who's the weaker team, who I'd like to see go through should we meet them?'. Dangerous thing my thinking occasionally!

Absolute dross.

I quite liked Kaviedes during his brief stint. Niche character with flair.

Kaviedes was revered in Ecuador.

All 4 games (according to Wikipedia)?

I remember the excitement of any South American at Palace and him not quite living up to my (then) teenage imagination. Nothing against him though was a very tongue in cheek statement!

Senegal 1-0 - Sarr penalty.

Was a bad one to give away from Ecuador.

Confidently taken must say.

I noticed some Senegal supporters with their faces painted white.
If any England supporters painted their face black they would be subjected to animus, and face shot and shell by the woke left-wing twitterati who would not give a fig about "White face".
