Although obviously disappointing, it was a great day out and the display from the Palace end before kickoff was inspiring. We had a couple of chances to nick it but Chelsea stepped up a gear in the second half and you could sense what was coming. Just a shame that their first goal came from a Tyrick mistake and then a deflection. If only Anderson got his header on target we could have had a rousing last 15 minutes. Worst part was queuing for the tube with thousands of chanting Chelsea. However the Palace among the throng did strike back with a couple of chants. Now on to the rest of the league season and hoping for a top-ten finish - although the last-ditch wins by Brighton and Brentford over the weekend don't help!

Putting the result to one side, in my 70s and could not be prouder to be a Palace fan, the supporters yesterday were brilliant, to see the almost sterile Chelsea fans against absolute class of Palace, in all my years nearly 40 years unbroken season ticket holder it has got better and better, so thanks to the fanatics and everyone one of you at the game, i bloody loved it, after losing, who was singing loudest at the end ? Palace

I think the amount of tactical fouls the ref allowed Chelsea to get away with yesterday was a disgrace. Totally agree with this point. Chelsea made 16 fouls yesterday, and the only yellow card given was for the ridiculous dive from Havertz. How "Dave" didn't get booked is beyond me. I am all for free-flowing football, but what Chelsea set up to do was the polar opposite of that.

After the fantastic display from our fans I would have liked to seen the players come down to our end as a group and acknowledge that support. I am sure they were disappointed with the outcome, but so we were we. Yes, most did eventually trek down in a desultory fashion, but a more unified nod to everyone would have been appreciated. In fact, Wilf didn't even bother and went straight down the tunnel, as I think did Luka. Our players are always banging about how good the fans are, so yesterday was an opportunity for them to show recognition of that directly to us. Or am I asking too much?

I noticed Wilf going straight down the tunnel as well. Was also disappointed that with our outstanding support the whole team didn’t come together to the Palace end. The Palace support was the winner yesterday. Wilf may have been upset with where he was told to play and his contribution but the fans deserved better than that :-(

Eze is the best player at the club if you play him right, a free role behind the striker, with no defensive responsibly, if you don't want to play him like that, sell him, there will be many takers, then we will see what we missed A few weeks ago, you claimed he would be in the top 5 players in the world. He played yesterday, against a poor Chelsea team ( your observation ), but he no impact on the game at all, not making any defensive moves, never near enough to Chelsea players. So he had a free role as he cant tackle, but anonymous again.

I hate to say it, but I agree, I think Eze WAS overrated by a lot of fans in his first season, simply because we were so desperate for any sort of skill or attacking intent under Roy. I found myself purring over the goals he scored, but he actually only scored three Edited by monkey (18 Apr 2022 5.10pm)

People actually questioned him at the start of his first season because he took time to get going but once he did he was absolute class and everyone in the game including the England manager seemingly agreed. This season he hasn't had a run of games at any point; however, next season if we can get a proper box-to-box defensive midfielder to sit alongside Kouyate then maybe we could play Eze between Zaha and Olise with a striker in front as the focal point, similar to the way West Ham set up. Whatever the case I'd put a tenner on Eze getting an England call-up before the end of next season.

Yes maybe a bit harsh on him, but overrated players have got in England squads on the back of a handful of decent performances in the past, it does happen. I hope I’m wrong, because he did show flashes of brilliance, but for me, it was just that, flashes. Now after his injury, he’s just not standing out at all, which is why he hasn’t had that run in the team this season.
