I’m 100% not convinced with Anderson and my heart is sometimes in my mouth when he’s passing it out from the back. I would keep playing Tomkins. I think we do miss Anderson’s range of passing. He can ping a cross field ball to the wide men that Tomkins can’t. But isn’t it great we have options and not scraping the barrel.

Am so glad that Hughes played with such confidence and assurance Ayew, Hughes and Edouard were excellent although I was not impressed by the two substitutions - neither Schulpp nor Benteke improved the team. Just hope Hughes is not injured. And, of course, our No.23 was immense and now our top scorer. What a crying shame he is only with us for one season - to my mind he looked a lot better than several in the current Chelsea squad. We must maintain this form against Southampton and hope we can nullify the Ward-Prowse menace - he will be after Zaha for sure.

Let's hope it doesn’t spoil the game on Wednesday.

Maybe PV will not play Wilf until the second half, and let him come in fresh. It looks as if he's playing tired.

Was just checking the injuries website to see when JMac and Andersen might by back, and out of interest had a quick look at Southampton. We've whinged a bit this season about playing teams at the wrong times, but Saints look in a spot of bother at the moment. First and second choice keeper's are out (although Caballero's not a bad third choice), and Che Adams, both Armstrongs, and Broja all look doubtful. So no excuses really this time. For us, looks like Andersen might be on the bench for Saints, and maybe JMac on the bench for Watford.
