You just read what you want don’t you? Neither of you obviously been in charge of tying your own shoelaces up let alone a team of people that have to achieve stuff.

To be fair to Dan H, at least he is honest about it. And I have no issues around him hiring who he wants based on whatever criteria he chooses. All I ever ask for is the honesty so that people can arrive at their own conclusions.

Dan seems decent in some ways.

No interview face to face then as you wouldn't be allowed to Ask the colour of a person or their hheritage; that's racist. Would you guess their name isn't English or a white name so to speak that's racist. So even if the white candidate interviewed better and suited the skill set and experience needed you would employ the non white. That's racist or at least discrimination.
You see danh. Any which way you pan it out the left are the racists. You are proving that fact purely by admitting what you would do. Racism works both ways you know!

Would you pick a football team that only had 11 goalkeepers in it?

Perhaps if you hired strictly upon merit the achieving would be easier.

Apparently I've never been in charge of people.....that will be news to some.

No one even gets to interview stage unless they are chartered in the profession. 3 years of slog after university. Everyone can do the job so you hire based on where you have other skills and experience gaps and who will add more to the whole.

You’ve been in charge of children.

Strange way of thinking about it from someone who rejects 'racism'.

It’s really not. A team needs people with different skill sets, whether it’s football or business.

How is being a different race a 'different skill set'?

This is where you are reading what you want to into what I say. Of course it’s not in itself but I want people who are different to each other. I want people who come from different backgrounds who don’t think completely the same as I do. If I had a team of 35 year old blokes who all support Palace in my team we’d just have the same person who could do the same thing.

I'm hardly reading what I want I'm just following through on your own comments. You are the one who said that a 'racial mix' was important and that race meant having different skill sets.

You can have different backgrounds and skill sets all within the same ethnicity. If you hired purely upon ability I'm pretty sure that it wouldn't all be one race anyway.
