Arguably it would have been easier when Citeh were doing it (less loads a money competition) To see NUFC attempt it now will certainly be an interesting journey to watch unfold - Also - I wonder who (if any) will be the next club to be endowed with riches & what shape that takes ........ To start with they will get players who are 1 down from top draw e.g. better than what they have but not ones who would walk into a top six side and the club will pay over the odds. However if they can become a top six side with a decent chance of winning the league then the top players will come, why wouldn't they decent money and a chance of trophies. Man City didn't happen over night.

You have a point however Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and even United have owners that don't like spending money. If this was a game of poker Newcastle could outbid the rest.

It's not going to plan for the House of Saud today. Newcastle out like express trains 1-0 in the second minute. But Spurs exploiting them at the back it is 1-3 at HT after a medical interruption in the crowd.

Every credit to the Tottenham players today when someone in the crowd was taken seriously ill. Reguilon & Kane drawing the refs attention to it and Eric Dier for racing to get someone to go across with the defibrillator.
Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that. |

Agree, would add the thought of Bruce getting a reportedly multi million pound pay off is beyond words. There truly is no other job where failure leads to further riches. Bruce has never been successful in any managerial role He was doing alright at Palace

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

It seems that everyone has just assumed that they'll sign loads of world class players - Having money does not guarentee success, just gives them the Mmeans to. It took ManC a good few years to get where they are. This season's still gonna be tough for them.

I must say I enjoyed, yesterday, seeing the wierd face of Amanda Staveley, all smiles and joy after the first couple of minutes, change to one that would 'turn the milk sour' as my old mum used to say, by the end of the match. She has no allegiance to Newcastle UFC, having already been involved in Mansour's CPC purchase of Man City in 2008. To her it's all about the money. Thank gawd we've got a proper supporter as chairman of our club.

But to be fair I think Miss Staveley's normal fizzog could curdle a whole dairy, so I'm glad I didn't see it when the 3rd Spurs goal went in.
Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

Is anyone else reminded of Kryton from Red Dwarf when looking at Amanda Staveley's constructed face?
