I thought palace played great yesterday considering up against a strong Liverpool team. If I was one of starting eleven Id have been furious with Jairo as he came on and just lost us the game. We were in it till then. Just lazy defending. I hope the rest of the team told him that was not good enough ... and after that his passing was woeful. Classic case of the sub not understanding the effort up till that point. And for those Wardy moaners ... get off his back. He's been wonderful this season and one of our real battlers.

to quote the late Sir Bobby Robson 'we lost 3-0 but we weren't 3-0 losers'. He said this once when he was in charge of PSV - may have confused the Dutch but we know what he meant.

It was very evident from early in the game that we were playing against the referee as well. Madley and his brother shouldn't be anywhere near a Premier League game. I'd echo the concerns about creating and converting clear cut chances and Ayew, Riedewald and Benteke and defending set pieces. Irrespective of style of play the games are ultimately won and lost in each penalty area. As I've said before I think we may be batting off or accepting bids for Andersen come the end of the season. So he's the brother of the notorious Bobby Madley? That explains everything.

In fairness, Mane and Salah are fantastic players. They must be a nightmare to mark and could peel away like that against some of the world's best players. From the highlights only, we had a couple of good chances and it looked like Benteke was tripped. You need the rub of the green against Liverpool, yesterday we didn't get it. At least we posed a threat and didn't get ripped apart in open play. I'm sure I didn't see on MOTD Benteke's header when he hit the post or did I miss it and that was a ridiculous mistake by the officials when he was bundled over by Tsimikas, we had four instances where we were professionally fouled when in positive moments and these are the moments when teams score in open play, players should be red carded not yellowed for blatant fouls ..football is purely about goals and that's what all fans want to see, we do our fair share of it too and the only way to stop it is to send the f***ers off.

No for some reasonMOTD didn’t think a Benteke header against the post worthy of inclusion in the highlights package. I suspect if it were a Liverpool effort it most certainly would have made the cut.

With regard to yesterday he'd clearly decided before the game he wasn't going to give any free kicks for fouls on Zaha unless they were blatant chops or hacks. He showed a complete reluctance to punish a series of deliberate and tactical fouls by Liverpool with a card. Bottled the only two real decisions he had to make in the game which were both penalties for fouls on Benteke and Edouard (shirt pulling). To cap it off he booked Ward when he finally lost it after Mane shoved him and nothing was given. Truly incompetent and weak.

When they showed the Benteke trip MoTD commentator said he fell over. Then a couple of minutes later they did show it again and questioned if it might have been a trip. Pundits ignored it completely and just waxed lyrical about Milner. I think we know now that if we win 3-0 its all about the weakness of the other team and if we lose 3-0 its about the majestical performance of the opponents. Annoying but come to expect it now.
Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that. |

Without going on about Benteke, I presume Edouard should start against Brighton? Perhaps Olise too? Not necessarily. He came on and misses two chances…one an absolute sitter. Maybe he’ll start, who knows. But Saturdays showing was a trip back down to earth after thinking we’d bought the messiah after Spurs.

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course). |
