You have no more idea of what the future may hold than anyone else. We could re-enter. The EU could collapse. We could all be obliterated in a nuclear catastrophe.

If we re-entered it would follow negotiations. As, in my opinion, we would never accept the single currency my guess would be that would be a pre-condition to those negotiations.

That would likely mean that we would be re-entering a reformed EU. One with a looser structure and probably created to accommodate those who desired ever closer integration and those who don't.

The idea of a "two-speed" Europe has been around for at least 40 years and will, I think, eventually be the model that is settled on. Should we re-enter we would almost certainly be part of the second, outer, group. Quite possibly the leading member of that group. That's what I mean by an associate member. It's all speculation but the fact remains that it is a very possible future outcome.

including yourself, but that doesnt stop you posting pro EU twaddle every day.. and how exactly will we influence your beloved EU from the 'associate group' when we ncoudnt influence much from the main group???

Look who wrote this though!

Clearly whilst a very well-read and knowledgeable man he is hardly the most enthusiastic EU advocate, is he?

Eurosceptics exist in all countries. Especially those who work in the UK and have ties to Eurosceptics here.

Looks to me as though he is highly ambitious and has political axes to grind. Most of which are in Berlin and not London. Worth watching him.

So on that basis we can ignore all the pro European garbage you spout.

Thanks for the heads up.

It's an odd one as I understand it Jersey has control of its on waters rather than the UK. It sounds like the jersey Parliament is the one that is holding things up?

Is it though? Does it not say 17 French vessels have not supplied the required data?

If there is any logic in that comment I am at a loss to see it.

I didn't say he should be ignored. Actually if you read what I said it was the exact opposite of that. All I said was he seemed pretty clearly not to be a big fan of the EU who also had political ambitions.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

And that comment was to suggest that his opinion was prejudiced, therefore implying that it was somehow invalid.
Please don't waste my time with squirmy wormy word play.
