Currently we are running on empty ,crippling injuries aside we have a solely defence minded manager who might keep us in the premiership this season but needs to hang up his boots after a distinguished career post haste

Bad day at the office. No rotation possible due to injuries. The lads looked a yard short to every 50/50. Tough run of games coming up against some in form teams. Saints are flying at the moment, a battling draw was probably the best we could have expected.

We’re still organised and tough to beat (not tonight) and have 30 points on the board. With key players to return from injury we’ll be fine. 44ish points and will finish around 12th. Par season on the cards.

Watching Brighton slide towards the relegation zone will be the highlight of the second half of the season

Can’t help wondering if Luka would have made a difference tonight.
Somebody to steady the midfield. Too many rash “kick it anywhere balls” smashed out of defense. Also Tosun miss could have turned the game for us. We’ll never know. Basically bad day at the office. Thank God we took a couple of points off Arsenal and City. I hoped for 3 points from the three games. We got 2.

Parrish has know that, since we sold WB to MU but like our striker problem and others he is just happy to gamble on PL survival, Poor Roy has so little options to play with, the leadership at this club needs to change in the meantime those who think we are safe don't bank on it, we could still be in deep trouble if we have a really bad run in, which is very possible!

I was going to add that Kayoute was only a couple of % better. But the whole midfield is consistently much lower than the rest of the premier league. It seems like there's both a lack of ability and movement/options.

Our goal scoring record this season is absolutely abysmal. Sure, if we score first we are pretty much guaranteed to win. Man City and Wolves (og) are the only times we've scored first and drawn.

We've also got one of the best records of rescuing peoples when we have conceded.

To me, this means we have a great set up for playing the big clubs, where if we nick the odd goal first we might get some points, but we simply have to take the game to the lesser clubs and not play 3 holding midfielders!

What an embarrassing shambles of a performance. We showed the speed, skill and passing accuracy of a pub team and made them look like Barcelona. Is the rollercoaster about to hurtle downwards ?

just back from the game, roy has got to go.
i pay good money to watch this crap week after week at home.
I DONT CARE IF BRIGHTON WIN OR LOOSE.
WE NEED A MANAGER WITH THE BALLS TO TRY AND WIN AT HOME AGAINST TEAMS IN AND AROUND US.

100% agree! The reason we are on 30 points is because its a terrible league this season that only 1 team seems to be running away with it. I cannot stand how Roy prefers the likes of McCarthy over the Camarasa's and Meyers!! 1 win in 9, and the worst goal scoring team in the league!!

Bad day at the office. We looked totally off our game and all the players looked knackered. I don't think this was tactics rather the City game took its toll on a small and depleted squad. Saints thoroughly deserved it, which is hard to say coming from someone who grew up in Portsmouth.

Ward-Prowse though, I mean I really hope he takes a wrong turn down a dark alley. He reminds me of when my school team used to come up against a private school and you'd get some spoiled brat who thought he was clever to try and wind everyone up. What an embarrassment of a player.

Thank god we can have a break now and recover.

This exactly, Southampton were simply miles and miles too good for us, we weren't bad or played badly Southampton just made us look that way ..nothing more nothing less, if people were actually bothered to look at their games recently and watch the way they have been playing they would've all been fully aware of the problems we would have against them and especially so with the comparisons of squads.
Ward-Prowse should get a medal for doing that face.

We’re 7 points off the bottom.
That may seem a reasonable cushion but we’re not winning too many to enable us to pull decisively away.
Our defensive solidity should see us through and also having the injured players back.
But I do despair how we set up so defensively for every game regardless of the opposition.
Roy seems to have forgotten that they changed the points for a win from 2 to 3 a few years ago so is happy to settle for draws rather than risk going for a win !

Although Southampton lost by nine earlier in the season they cannot in the slightest be classed as lesser since then.

we can all see that it’s time to try something new, to get at the opposition. Whenever we have good go at a team it lifts everybody, players and fans alike.

For all those that have been asking for Luka to be dropped... at least you know what that’s like now. I for one a, looking forward to having him available again.

We need a ball player. If Roy doesn’t think Meyer is the answer then Parish needs to get his cheque book out.

We have done so well with so little but enough is enough. Just surviving shouldn’t be our aim.
