The outcome last week should have been a lesson in making timely changes to take the game to the opposition. So what did we learn from that defeat and do this week? Had the match gone on for another 3 hours I think we would have worn them down! Edited by Henry of Peckham (16 Mar 2019 3.22pm)

I too have supported Roy but enough is enough he refuses to make subs when it is clearly obvious that it is needed his failure to react has cost us the last 2 games. Look at Watford today 2nd half did not have a sniff but instead of there manager making a defensive sub went attacking and what a surprise they win the game. Our tactics are appalling so slow predictable and boring. Roy has the best squad we have had at this club whilst in the PL and is massively underachieving. Look at Watford, Bournemouth and Wolves all doing better than us cause they have managers that have balls and allow there players to express themselves. You have Batshuayi who is a striker that thrives on lose balls in the penalty area never going to get in behind and beat a player for pace we then have Benteke who thrives on crosses into the box but refuse to do it. Ask yourself why under fat Sam Benteke scores loads cause he knows how to play to a target mans strengh. It’s time we progressed as a club and move on and the time has come for a change otherwise we are going to lose players like Wilf & Aaron as they deserve so much more. Seriously Palace we need to ask ourselves what do we want? I’m not asking us to go out and spend loads and not being unrealistic before people say things like who do you want us to sign I just want our talented team to be allowed to play to there strengths and show us what they are capable of as opposed to constantly playing with the shackles on that Hodgson just won’t let go or take off. Please make a change for next season otherwise we in for the same again next season and not sure I can bare waiting till the 74th minute or going 2-1 down before making a change. And that my friend (and I like to think we are all friends because we are Palace supporters), is why Roy should step down at seasons end. If he had the ability to adapt I would back him to the hilt but he clearly doesn’t.

Now I have to question if you were watching the same match? What a pathetic post

The best team won. We just aren't good enough. That's why they're where they are in the league and we're where we are. We're totally clueless going forward. We pride ourselves in our wingers and our wide midfielders and yet how many times do they get to the byline and put decent crosses in. They'd rather cut inside and try and play silly little passes in the box which come to nothing. It must be so frustrating for any center forward who plays.

I should have guessed that Wilf would miss this one with the international break coming up. Half of me is pleased we are out because we have PL business to take care of but losing three times to Watford in one season is not bad luck, it is an indication of how much we have stayed still while others have improved. We will not circle the drain much longer without falling down it. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (16 Mar 2019 3.36pm)

Yep, I think I will be surprised. If you had the same tactics you would have lost the game as well. Roy has is reactive not proactive That is why we lost the game, simple as. And what would you have said had we made a change and it got worse and let a goal in. People would say we were doing ok,why change it. He’s in a no win situation really. Being proactive is great if it’s clear you have them totally on the rack, or you need to make the change to get a reaction. But they were going to always be dangerous. I thought we were going to nick it anyway without subs. It’s fine margins and they won on this occasion.

We continuously moan about our strikers saying they are not good enough but the service is embarrassing the only reason Batshuayi scored today was due to a mistake by Marriappa. Edited by dazza (16 Mar 2019 3.00pm) I've been saying this until I'm blue in the face. Would it be such a crime to play with 2 strikers up front? Sometimes Roy has no tactical nouse.
