We are at our best when we play counter attacking football.
Always have been, always will be. We have speed, just lack a consistent goal scorer / front man. I guess that's why Roy adopts this 'style' of play?!?!?!?

I couldn't, with confidence, tell anyone what our footballing ethos is these days though. Not sure even Roy knows at times ... lol

But, if we stay up again (!) ... then f*ck it, who cares!

Not always. We played well against utd ladt night after going 2-0 down. We pressed them high and took the game to them. Why couldn't we have started like that. Whoever we play and wether we play home or away, we play the same way. Teams know that in advance and we are so predictable. We have to mix it up sometimes. Roy has options in the squad now and yet plays the same team unless there are injuries.

But how many teams, realistically, in the bottom 1/2 of the league do actually mix it up, deploy to a plan B when things are going wrong. Teams like us will always be reactive as opposed to proactive. Mainly to do with managers being overly cautious to avoid a drubbing.

I don't disagree with you btw but teams that are 2-0 up sometimes just ease off a bit, hence allowing teams to press, and then hit you on the break. The better clubs / teams will always dictate the game and the opposing manager, Roy in our case, knows this ...

All in all, it's lot easier than it actually sounds which is why we're on forums discussing this as opposed to training professional footballers on a daily basis.

I would like to see us play more on the front foot rather than just be a second half team whereby we always seem to be chasing the game. The counter attack style has it moments such as Leicester and Man City but I would love to see us boss a game for 90 minutes and not give the opposition a sniff. We can play like this Burnley at home and Wolves away being examples this season.

We all would love us bossing games for 90 mins but we're in the Premiership, not League One.

Burnley didn't turn up though did they?! They were woeful as was our most of our finishing.

Let's not forget Leicester won the Prem playing counter attack football so there's a lot to be said for it when done properly.

Maybe that's why they're in thd bottom half of thd league. Lol
Seriousky I think we havd a very good squad now - look at our bench yesterday, and that's with 2 of our best defenders injured. We should be in a position to mix it up a bit, depending on who and where we are playing.
By the way - what's happened to the other Sako, seems like a bit of a waste of time/money getting him in until the end of thd season. ..

Well, for sure Palace should be cautious when playing against big boys but the comment was much more like we do when we are not against big boys as well.

We simply attacked brutally against Burnley, Cardiff (scored 0) and second half of West Ham. West Ham who simply outplayed us in first half couldn`t move at whole second half when we planned to attack.

Yesterday, we started to second half like sleepwalker and we have seen second goal. What would be if we attacked? Maybe Utd would score again but probability would be less compared to playing like a sleepwalker. It was obvious that it is coming.

I am ok to be cautious but at the end of the day you can win a point when you score and it requires appetite.

The end of the season and who knows maybe a cheeky little fa cup final in may ?

Now 8 points clear of the bottom 3, we're actually closer to 8th place Watford now. We should be more confident and start targeting that top half finish now, we've been in terrific form (United result aside) so may as well go for it.
