This post has been merged from a topic called 'What game were you all watching???' by Midlands Eagle I'm sick of the negativity on here. As soon as we lose a game, everyone just finds fault with everything. That was never a 3-1 game, and at 1-1 we were clearly the better team. Chelsea are a world class team, and at the moment we are not having much luck and the main criticism is that we are lacking a top quality player up front. But don't tell me today was a bad performance, our passing is a joy at times. I feel certain that if we continue to play as well as this, we will start getting the results when we get another run of games against the lesser teams

The fact is that we haven’t got the depth in our squad to compete with any of the top 8. Our starting line up was probably the best we have got. The subs options are dire. So if any of the starting 11 don’t play at their best we are stuffed. Fortunately there are around 8 other teams from whom any 3 could go down. The problem really comes if you don’t beat them. We have to buy in January. I think the crunch will come against Brighton. If we lose that, then the fans will turn on the management.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'What game were you all watching???' by Midlands Eagle I don't think we were ever the better team, there were short spells when we coped with them brilliantly and finally scored a decent goal from open play but we were completely outclassed and there's no real shame in that against a team like Chelsea.
Bangell - If Camus wrote The Myth of Sisyphus today, it would be about Jason Puncheon eternally trying and failing to pass with his right foot. |

I think in the world of the old school league of Pulis, Pardew & Sam Etc., Roy is a lot better. The worrying thing, however, is if it does reach a point where things get really bad, I see this becoming a Pardew 2.0 situation, as I said, I really can’t see Parish getting rid of him without a hell of a lot of resistance first.
We're the Arthur over ere! |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'What game were you all watching???' by Midlands Eagle Mostly agree with glaziermart. I thought it was a plucky, positive all-round display - we gave our classy hosts a fright or two. Entertaining match - and our fans were great. (And well to Joel for his expert analysis in the Sky studio)

'In Roy we Trust' but his poor management of substitutions is costing Palace. He hands the initiative to the opposition each week. We should get fresh legs on earlier, not just for a cameo but to put the opposition under stress and bolster the defence too. As soon as the Chelsea subs appeared the concentration went and really surprisingly we just fell away. If RH is tired it is hardly surprising, but we do look like some of those England pedestrian non-creative displays. We didn't get Abrahams but I think Zaha needs a partner and really Kalkai has had a bad deal from Palace. They should play him and give him a proper chance, not just chucked on for a few minutes.

I feel certain that if we continue to play as well as this, we will start getting the results when we get another run of games against the lesser teams We definitely were in the game for the most part until they went ahead again. By no means our worst performance. Let’s face it, we have won there 3 times in the last 6 seasons, historically we do fairly well against big sides. The main reason for that is we cede massive amounts of possession and can hit on the break, often through the middle of the park - somewhat how we scored today. The performances against some of the teams in and around us this year have even absolutely terrible though. Where we are given possession, and bated to break a team down, we have struggled horribly. I agree we are playing better, but for me the Burnley game on December 1st is massive. We need to put a performance in against a team somewhat on our level. Apart from Fulham we really haven’t done that so far.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

For Palace, let us be realistic, we don't have a cats chance in hell of competing with the super rich clubs. The PL is becoming a bore with them, year in and year out, same old thing. For us, to see the back of them would not be bad.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'What game were you all watching???' by Midlands Eagle Even in the first half against Fulham we weren't great Maine eagle. But I see some signs of improvement and we are, I reckon, better with Meyer than without.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'What game were you all watching???' by Midlands Eagle I was at the game today, we were never the better team. That said we weren't that poor, Chelsea are just a great team. That being said we desperately need a striker.
