We'd closed them down really well most of the game but at a cost to our energy levels. Didn't react to their new attackers and paid the price at the death. I won't state the obvious about our attack.
“ [T]here are known knowns; there are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns; that is to say there are things that, we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns – there are things we do not know we don't know. ” |

Well how much more evidence does Roy need that substations work. Everton were pretty clueless before the subs and then they came on and the game changed. But it’s not just Roy. We knew by not buying decent forwards we would be in trouble this season. We now have to somehow struggle through to January. Parish then has a choice. Buy and buy big or it’s the championship for us next season. Yes there are other teams that we should be beating, but we aren’t, and the slide down the table continues.

The game was won/lost by the managers today. Silva made three attacking subs and Roy stood there like a clueless idiot. Even if you arent going to bring on a striker to win the game then you at least need to react by bringing on fresh legs to see it out. A draw away at Everton (even with the pen miss) would have been a decent result. Roy will be gone by Xmas and it can’t come soon enough. Who would you have brought on ?????

No, Hodgson does. We tired towards the end, Everton changed up and put fresh legs on and we continued to try to defend when we were knackered. He also did nothing to change the attack pattern which was yielding nothing. Not using your bench is just insane. It's one of the tools a manager has to affect the game and Hodgson uses it so poorly, if at all. Even if the players on it aren't the first team at least they know the system and at least they're not knackered. Hodgson seems to make substitutions for the sole purpose of reintroducing players returning from injury or if someone gets carted off. Up until they scored the Hodgson plan was working and he was happy to take the draw so probably didn't feel the need to possibly upset the apple cart by introducing someone from the bench.

You havnt a clue. He is not. You don't know how to use him, that is pretty clear from the little time he has got. As I have said before, he will go to another, better club and do perfectly well.

Who would you have brought on ????? You bring subs on to make the opposition aware of a new threat of a minimum of more speed.

10 of our 11 put 100% into today, so i am not going to go out and blame players. Our biggest plus is that Wickham played 5 minutes without getting injured.

Too predictable. Man of The Match was won by Everton Manger with well timed three sub forwards attacking late on with Palace defence unable to hold out. Predictable by way of: a) Palace unable to stop conceding goals late on in games What do you think?

The players absolutely have to take responsibility for this. A bit of both. The tone is set by management. If I were a player on the fringes I’d be looking at this and thinking “what’s the point” We’ve a left back who for all his going forward can’t defend, so In front of him we stick Schlupp, who is a truly woeful footballer. There’s 30 million right there. Parish gets stick for not investing but that highlights the risks that come with it there. In midfield our captain is awful, the first ball playing midfielder we have gets dropped for Schlupp again. I’m looking forward to Wickham being fully fit so he can take corners and we get a decent delivery. Last season the team picked itself. This season Roy is picking it and seems consistently able to repeat mistake after mistake. Mirrored when he got the England job, defensively sound in the games but no threat until the tournament two years later which culminated in the Iceland performance. We saw with him not picking Zaha for England he favours a type It’s looking more and more like Iceland Roy, rather than Fulham Roy, which is a shame. If the players aren’t performing that’s a management issue as well.
