Im bloody delighted with that result. Yes we didn't play great but that is not as easy place to go. We had all the clear cut chances and could have won that by 3 or so with a bit more composure in front of goal. They had one lousy shot on target for the whole game.

I don't understand people screaming for Subs for the sake of it. Yes I would love to see Meyer play but with Jummy Mc playing so well he is not going to replace him anytime soon. That was not a game that called for Meyer as we were in front and were not chasing it.

Ayew was a breath of fresh air today. He was far from perfect but he ran himself into the ground with all his hasseling. With a few more games under his belt he could be the missing link in this team and now Benteke can spend as long as he needs to get his knee and head right.

6 points after 5 games is not to be scoffed at in this division.

3 pts,Wilf wonder-goal,clean sheet,Wilf not sent off,no-one sent off,kept those happy-clappers quiet,Wilf uninjured. All positives for me regardless of a very tough away-day performance. Ollie's Dad,Ash.

We had a goal disallowed which was a perfectly good goal, so yes we were in control and I never had the feeling we were going to draw or lose that game.

I take it you didn't watch the game.

We was awful

These players was so poor Townsend, PVA, Hennessy Sakho had moments even Mcarthur once he was booked he was silent and out captain has not been great since returning from World Cup he is missing Cabaye big time

Roy needs to stop this suborn stuff do changes there is a pattern we are very poor second half that 15-20min are really bad he could of changed few things.

How no one was send off in this game was a surprise.

The other thing is how can other players get experience of the league if not even getting proper game time Max must be thinking I need to get out of here come Jan if can't even get any time again the likes of these sort of teams.

I think that’s an unfair assessment. We are away from home playing a PL team, we still created decent chances and didn’t Give too much away. It was at times a really bitty game with tough tackles and they were passing really well.

It was a really solid display by our defensive players today, but we still had more of the ball and played out from the back fairly consistently.

I mean we didn’t but yeah.

Regardless if we’re home or away, we can play so much better than that. Take a look at how we played against Leicester away last season. We have to learn to be a lot better on the ball than we were today on a more consistent basis, especially against opposition like Huddersfield.

It’s not just some modern footballing fashion statement, regardless of how the media portray its uselessness. It’s about being able to dictate games and be in control of our own destiny. Being solid and leaving the rest to hope is only gonna keep us afloat for so long. And if we don’t get our arse into gear, we could well be in for yet another scrap this season.

With the players we’ve had, and the amount we’ve spent over the past 5 years. There’s no need for it. We can be better.

To sum up. We were atrocious.

Poor forward passing. Dithering in defence. No control of the midfield. Well below what we are capable of.

It's lucky that Huddersfield couldn't hit a barn door with a bazooka.

Totally agree with this. I have never been so annoyed after a win. How much are we missing Cabaye! Do not understand no subs, I don't agree with using them just for the sake of it but surely it was evident something needed to change, Meyer can hold the ball and pass most of our team off the pitch. Why do we allow a team like Huddersfield to have 58% possession, there defence was ragged when Wilf got to them but we insisted on sitting back. Rant over and I will now have a laugh that we got 3 points out of that.

We have lost 3 games on the trot, now stopped the slide with an away win. That isn't good enough for some, they want sprinklings of substitution, expansive attacking play.

That's Palace fans for you, back to moaning about HF tomorrow, I expect.

Nice summation. They will feel aggrieved not getting something as Roy said but it's all about goals. Important 3 points as we have a few winnable games coming up with a tough run afterwards. COYP !!

Hennessy keeps a clean sheet he has a poor game . Is it not the job of the goalkeeper to stop the ball going into the net ?
If he let in a goal he will also have a poor game .
When will people get off Hennessy's back

Great to have won and stopped the slide but we were poor and as others have said - if Huddersfield could shoot straight then it might have been a different story!
Hey ho!

Agree with this. Today and against soton, we just seemed to sit back and try and catch them on the break. Fine against good teams, but soton at home and Huddersfield away we should be taking thd game to them. All our high pressing and quick one touch passing seems to have gone out of the window. We seem to just be playing at half pace. Some poor performances today, PVA was shocking, Luka was lucky to stay on the pitch after 2 terrible tackles. Macarthur should havd been sent off doing a deliberate foul after being booked. Townsend non existing. Apart from Zahas goal, we were shocking going forward. Crying out for Meyer today and didn't even get 5 mins. Have never been so dissapointed after getting 3 points.

Anyway, I will enjoy opening my traditional celebratory bottle of Theakston’s Old Peculier tonight. It’s been waiting in the cupboard for a few weeks, but not for as many weeks as this time last year!
