If it's true that it's a Loan with option to buy, then it's an even better move. If he performs adequately, Palace can buy him (I'm assuming a few ship out to make some room and clear some wages). Then we have that loan spot open in January to fill any injury gaps with a quality benchwarmer. And if he does nothing then he's a squaddie who leaves end of season. Such a relief, so many things can go wrong, even at the last minute
