Not sure about this. The specific point that I was reacting to was the notion that he would not sign a 1 year deal. I always thought that a long term deal is good business for clubs because it protects their ownership in the asset (I.e. the player), and for other amortisation reasons. However there is no fee for Wilshere, so there is no amortisation consideration. So what are West Ham gaining by offering a 1 year deal? I get the point about Wilshere’s fitness, but there is nothing over the last couple of seasons to suggest he is really that injury prone, he played 29 league games two seasons ago, and 38 games overall last season. So Wilshere could theoretically take the money from West Ham, have a stormer, and then move on after a year. Effectively it is a season long loan where Wilshere gets paid rather than Arsenal. All seems very odd.
In fact, that many turn outs in a team that rotates you whether you are fit or not is pretty good going.

Do you think West Ham’s signing on fee offer is 3 years worth of wages above what ours is because if it isn’t you’d have to be bat sh1t crazy to take it and bat sh1t crazy to offer it. Never going to happen, which is why it doesn’t happen with good players in their 20’s. West Ham have probably tried it on and Wilshire is having none of it with a few irons in the fire. Excuse the pun.

Firstly, he won’t stay fit. Secondly, England have really s***e central midfielders. Henderson, Dier, Delph are all pretty average to compare against, and I’d argue they are all (a lot) better than Wilshere anyway. For some reason, people rate Wilshere. What has he ever done? Given the ball away a lot. That's a lazy assessment borne from outdated stats...as someone else stated, in the last 2 x seasons he played far more games, which would suggest that he's come through the injury prone years. I understand why you suggest it...but you can't do so as fact.

If he does well, he is not their player at the end of the season, if he does badly, he is a free agent at the end of the season too. I get the point as to why he might not accept it anyway, but when teams are looking to sign younger players up to 5 year deals (e.g. Zaha), what have West Ham to gain by signing him on a 1 year deal?

Maybe Lanzini getting a serious injury makes Wilshire to West Ham a more likely deal now. I hope Jack makes a decision soon. Parrot

there's a WTF story linking him to a move to Turkey! "Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere will confirm a move to Fenerbahce on Monday, according to reports in Turkey" surely this is BS? Parrot
