I know someone who worked in the medical teams at both Wolves and Yeovil. He said it is very common for players to be on the pitch with pain killing injections. Often a player is encouraged to play through an injury in the hope of making it through to the summer and healing then. But he said it depends on the manager. Some will give a player more time to better recover (not necessarily fully recover) and others will be desperate to get them back on the pitch even if there is a high chance of re-injury. It is possible Sakho is not 100% fit, but is fit enough to play, but with a good chance of re-injury

Listened to Dean Saunders on TS this morning, speaking about the time he got an elbow in the face and had his front teeth knocked out and needed to have 16 stitches in his gums He carried on and completed the game and went on to play 3 days later Things have changed , these days certain players would have a month off with such an injury

He carried on and completed the game and went on to play 3 days later

Call me crazy but with this latest no return date revelation unless he makes a ‘convenient’ return against Liverpool I have a feeling he may not play again this season , £23 million pounds well spent eh ?
