Putting aside the Sanchez transfer - who would be the back-up keeper for the next match if Wayne or Jules were to get injured tomorrow?

If he has signed a pre contract agreement either party would find it virtually impossible to break. Therefore if he has signed one as reported then going somewhere else is not really an option. Usually means buying out contract. If he has signed one then his value to his current club is what we will pay for him to be released early. City were not willing to pay Arsenal price for sanches early release and his wages. United were and no precontract was agreed with player. Sanchez could have waited but the package from united must have been better - wages signing on fee media rights and first team playing opportunities

We have a youngster call Dion Henry from Peterborough who Adrian Durham on Talksport said was rubbish, couldn't get anywhere near their squad and was shocked that we'd signed him even as a 3rd keeper. He is usually on the pitch with the squad before each game and was on the bench against Chelsea.

In the great scheme of things £3.5m is not a lot to get a player in now and to ensure we have the goal keeping position covered.

If he is going to be our number 1 keeper next season why not pay the extra and get him in now? We need a keeper now. Once again we are slow to do the business when needed. Or is it once again going for a cheap option.

This looks like a solid reason for pàying up and signing him now: Wet Spam had wandered in for a sniff.

Or are you just speculating? Or are being a fanny and just moaning for the sake of it? Edited by Southampton_Eagle (24 Jan 2018 5.35pm)

I have prepared one of my own time capsules. I have placed some rather large samples of dynamite, gunpowder and nitroglycerin. My time capsule is set to go off in the year 3000. It will show them what we are really like. |

Two already in & at least one close is ahead of most of our immediate rivals and the EPL overall. There’s a bit of wondering whether we have a ‘plan a’ which depends on what we spend getting the first three in & if we go over budget on those there’s a plan b, c, d or even e.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

BREAKING NEWS Getafe goalkeeper Vicente Guaita has passed a medical at Crystal Palace – and could join the Premier League club in this window rather than in the summer, according to Sky Sports Spanish football expert Guillem Balague. The 30-year old is out of contract at the end of the season and has agreed to join Roy Hodgson’s squad as a free agent. However, the keeper is understood to have a release clause allowing him to leave in this window for £3.5million. I read the club wants €8m and that's what's delaying this getting over the line. Apparently we might pay it, but more likely we'll agree somewhere in the middle.
