Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Six CL matches in which people like Barcelona and PSG mostly wipe the floor with them and then knocked out. Rest of the season treading water against the likes of Motherwell, St Johnstone and Inverness CT FFS. Compared with playing for Palace that sounds quite s***e to me.

One things for sure, the money made on any transfer needs to go back into the squad. Just read an interesting article on Swansea and they are feeling the effects of selling their best player/s without re-investment : Some of the other statements in the article ring true for us in the past, the one above hopefully will not.
“ [T]here are known knowns; there are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns; that is to say there are things that, we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns – there are things we do not know we don't know. ” |

Too many glib comments on here, like, "he should leave", he's too good for us", he should be playing at a higher level" and "he deserves better". Shocking, are you really Palace fans? He is who he is because of being at Palace not despite being here. He loves the club, the club loves him, why should he want to leave. He would not be the same player being a small fish in a big pond as some have alluded to on here. He has a young family and is settled in the area, his parents are also here, he has admitted he is a family man. I genuinely believe there is more to Wilf than an obsession to move in higher circles. The only scenario wherein he should leave in my opinion is if we get relegated. The Le Tissier analogy is a good one and nothing has changed in football other than the amount of money on offer and that is certainly not a reason to leave Palace in Wilf's case. He has the opportunity at Palace to become the all time club legend as is Le Tissier to Southampton. For many players that is worth far more than moving to a club where he might not play all the time and is considered as just another player, etc, etc. The arguments have all been put forward on here already. All this thread does is add fuel to the rubbish spouted by the crap journos who scour these message boards for click bait. Don't be surprised to see articles with, "Palace fans think it is time for Wilf to move on" shortly. Every response on here should be, keep Wilf at all costs unless of course Barca want to swap him for Messi and then we might consider it Be a bit of a boring discussion then wouldn't it. I'm sure everyone wants to keep him, but it's worth a debate....

Well Liverpool have just paid 75million for a defender ... guess that makes Zaha worth £100 million !!!

And the answer is that great Russian winger who is desparate to come to the PL and his name is Fuktifaino.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Wilf' by Midlands Eagle Roy confirms he is going nowhere this window having been reassured by Parish and the yanks. No real surprise to me. So the money bags can think elsewhere. What I would like to know is whether Wilf himself would not want to go. When returning from Utd where he was treated with contempt by Moyes and most Manure fans, he said it was great to be back and how our fans loved him and sang his praises. To me I would like to think he would stay regardless (given we stay in the Premiership) or am I just naive?
Always remembering walking from the Holmesdale to the Whitehorse end at half time! |
