I'd also make the point that suicides of accused or the guilty are not uncommon. Prisoners being put on suicide watch is age old.

Some mindsets are never far from the edge in terms of suicide, males to a greater degree.

This is a difficult area.

While some have been busy blaming the victims, the New Yorker magazine has been tracking what Weinstein was up to recently. It includes hiring ex-Mossad agents to pose as women's advocates who then interviewed Weinstein's victims to see what they were doing. [Link]

Quote

Two private investigators from Black Cube, using false identities, met with the actress Rose McGowan, who eventually publicly accused Weinstein of rape, to extract information from her. One of the investigators pretended to be a women’s-rights advocate and secretly recorded at least four meetings with McGowan

The same operative, using a different false identity and implying that she had an allegation against Weinstein, met twice with a journalist to find out which women were talking to the press. In other cases, journalists directed by Weinstein or the private investigators interviewed women and reported back the details.

The explicit goal of the investigations, laid out in one contract with Black Cube, signed in July, was to stop the publication of the abuse allegations against Weinstein that eventually emerged in the New York Times and The New Yorker. Over the course of a year, Weinstein had the agencies “target,” or collect information on, dozens of individuals, and compile psychological profiles that sometimes focused on their personal or sexual histories.

Yeah, but secretly they wanted it and it was good for them. Right?

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

Innocent until proven guilty isn't 'blaming victims'.

I certainly agree with you that these abuses happen all the time in any number of different settings. It's also childish to view all situations in simplistic black and white terms. Some will be, some won't. Each situation is its own.

When the issue is contested I and others are also free to criticise when we consider there has been over-reach on one side.

Justice is mostly about trying to prove things first.

This is of course only of relevance of the alleged use of investigators is true.... If so then that's truly bizarre.... I'm now finding myself questioning everything I read and hear as everyone in the media has a slant\motive

Shamelessly bumping my own thread

Trial by meja serves no purpose and is inconclusive without naked photos of celebrities in compromising positions.

One point I remembered, was many years ago, after a couple of months of flirting, I 'got it on' with a Layydeee in a flat-share.
And her words to me, a few weeks later, were,..."When I was in the kitchen, I always hoped for you to come up behind me and wrap your arms around me"

If she had protested, I would have been a pervert.

Fine line and all that

i have been 'victim' to sexual harassment (todays standards) many times.

i used to work at sea and was known for being a ladies man, one girl knocked on my door, drunk, let herself in when i didn't answer (it was unlocked as my room mate had not long got back in) she straddled me and was like - 'come on we know you love sex'.

Other way around and o'd be out of a job and maybe doing time?

Another example, a woman said she had a nipple ring, i was like, 'no way' trying to act like i cared - she flashed her boob.

Another girl was flirty with me and i liked her back but never really went for it - was back in the cabin - had a knock on the door, opened - she said 'i just wanna try something' and kissed me.

this is just a small example, but i wasn't offended in the slightest - i actually felt slightly pleased i was desirable.

i think it boils down to male views and female views, i guess i never once felt over powered - that's probably the opposite for a lot for hess women.

However, i have heard and seen cases where women laugh it off, or go for it.

This whole band wagon of coming out with a story for click bait than actually y logging it with the police is what gets me.

The female version of Harvey Weinstein looks wise is Susan Boyle. Now if she had been your boss and came into your cabin naked, locked the door, and flicked her bean in front of you and you were still 'slightly pleased' then I would doff my cap

I'm not making light of the actual subject but if you could possibly private message me with a few more graphic details (feel free to stray from fact if it makes it more juicy) then that'd be grand.
